Hi wd9dui, we are currently in a testing phase where we send out test workunits to volunteers to catch bugs and issues before the full restart happens. Please read this thread for any information about the testing phase you will need to know. |

After a few weeks of running a constant flow of tasks, I'm now experiencing a major bottleneck downloading files. Most files are getting stuck around 25% - even small TXT files of 400-500 bytes. My system is being starved of tasks due to downloading slowness.

My system is being starved of tasks due to downloading slowness. Ditto me. If I am around I can usually un block the downloads by repeatedly selecting "Retry now". Works for MCM can't see that would work with ARP with huge file sizes. |

Two possibilities:
1) GPU has not been enabled in your DEVICE PROFILE; “Graphics Card Usage” I usually select “yes” to all options. 2) you don’t have a GPU in your system; One quick way to tell (but not the only method). In BOINC MANAGER, select the tab ACTIVITY and see if the options for GPU usage is visible. I usually select USE GPU ALWAYS. These steps work with windows. If you using a different OS, someone else will need to give you guidance. Good luck and happy crunching! Bruce |

To keep the forums organized, please report any new issues here Hello, I didn't see this issue listed: After registering a new device, its hostid cannot be found through Device management (after setting Installed/Registered Device: to 'anytime (all devices)' (and even setting or With Result(s) Returned: to 'anytime (all devices)'). To reproduce the issue I followed the following steps: In my case, there may be a hostname registered with the same name, but upon checking its hostid, it appears to be a different hostid. After clicking that hostname (with the same name) you're presented with a certain Device configuration. You can then view/modify its configuration. What you also can do and what should work, is edit the URL of a certain device and change it into the URL of a different one; in my case I would need to view/modify the configuration of the new device. Totally legal. So, first I tried editing the URL for my 4700U-ubuntu configuration in my browser and change it into the URL for my Android device. It's not difficult, just change 7819354 into 8555363 in the URL inside your browser. And that works in my case: I'm presented with the configuration for my Android device. So it should also work for the newly registered 4700U-ubuntu device (with a different hostid), the device that has already been returning results for ten days. Of course I checked the hostid. You can find it in ~boinc/client_state.xml and in ~boinc/sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml, in my case: $ grep hostid ~boinc/*.xml So its hostid is clearly 8573952. Now its device configuration should be available at this URL (hostid 8573952), and it should only accessible by me, when logged in, via the browser. But it isn't. I get: Error Unfortunately, an error occurred while processing your request. You can try again or you can Contact Us and tell us about the error. Adri PS Because of this issue, I cannot link the device to a different profile, unless I change the current default profile and register my device as a new one, so that it will be linked with the then current default profile.
