Unless your trying to earn Gridcoin? That has absolutely nothing to do with anything WCG!I note that WCG isn't whitelisted by GRC at this moment, although average credit does seem to be being registered in the GRC client. It hooks into the API of the BOINCclient and does whatever is does with the info that the client is providing about this work being performed. There is absolutely no communication betwen Grdcoin and WCG, or any other BOINC based project for that matter... Ralf |

I've stayed the course with Krembil, and like many just want to do a grand thing (science research) on a small scale (various older computers otherwise doomed to sit on the shelf or be junked). I can't 'do the math' but my computers can, even if they are older and slower. I wish some of the frustrated and angry contributors would remember if it was a perfect world, all the work we volunteer to run would have been done on supercomputers by now, and that software and hardware to handle these projects are orders of magnitude more complex than anybody's home or small office systems. I sold and serviced computers on a small scale; some of the tech stuff they report is way over my pay grade, but the gist is its a mess being dealt with as best they can with what they have.
----------------------------------------Judging by some of the immature blog and social media comments since the migration started, I'm sure some people gave up on Krembil and went to other projects and platforms. I've increased my Folding@Home work in the meantime, and even found the Quarantine@Home project that I abandoned because at the rate users were signing up and running it will be 60 years (!) before they finish their project of doing the entire ZINC database against three targeted Covid sites (some 112 million jobs, and they were maybe at 2.5 million when I bailed after running about 30,000 on one machine). I think many people forgot what they volunteered for. It's not about points, credits, or badges; it's about the advancement of science for the benefit of all Mankind, especially for fighting Covid and its mutations. I may be impatient, but I am here, ran what I could so far, and will again. I wish Krembil and the men and women trying to get WCG fully operational every good wish, every form of good luck, and every positive thought I can send them knowing they truly need to know at least some of us have their backs.

Any resolution on the "transient HTTP error"?
I have a fair number of WUs waiting to upload their results. Leave em be or abort? |

I haven't had any problems with uploads. Give your uploads a retry and see if that helps.
The downloads still have issues, up to you on how much time or effort you want to put in to get WUs. |

Agreed, WCG has been my favorite BOINC project for several years and I anticipate many good things with this latest system. . . . |

Well thought post MarkH and I totally agree. I have no experience in these massive client-server-database systems (being a bare-metal systems guy) but I understand they are not easy. I daresay Krembil inherited a lot of problems which came to light when trying to migrate. Hope they can sort them out and I wish them well. List most here, I'd like nothing more than to have WU's to do and contribute to worthwhile science.

I think those of us in the peanut gallery don't realize just how big this system really is. Also, I've understood this stage as being more of a stress test than a full launch. We're certainly stress-testing things here. |

Today I have seen a freer availability and variety of WU. BUT, the issue of lack of smooth downloading is still rearing its ugly head.
Although, there appears to be a slight improvement in the flow — or, it’s just wishful thinking on my part. I’m hoping on the former. My major systems are still focused on WCG whereas the rest of the systems are working smoothly on other projects [DENIS, EINSTEIN, & 1 or 2 others]. Bruce |
