Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

I like https://universeathome.pl/universe/ quite well, they are from Poland.
Their tasks take on average around 50 min on my Ryzen 1700 system, 14 running simultanously, with a back-and-forth swinging pattern between 30 and 80 min over the weeks. I run it on Ubuntu 20.04 virtualized in Hyper-V, where those tasks run 3 times as fast as under Windows (at least in 2020, see forum thread https://universeathome.pl/universe/forum_thread.php?id=550 ). Very well behaved in my opinion.
Other quirks are much more BOINC credits (666.67 cr for each BH2 task), and new batches of WUs are generated by the project admin manually. So it can sometimes happen that they run out before they get replenished.

For those idle awaiting re-start:

Try Rosetta, sidock and/or tn-grid.
All had covid related work and similar.

TN-Grid has medical related tasks for 32 and 64 bit Windows and Linux.

Rosetta has some tasks requiring Virtual Box with very large memory and some non-VB also large memory (from 1 to 8Gb).

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

I joined Universe@home when WCG went down. I already have the Venus badge, which I find surprising. The project is not medical, but I like astronomy and cosmology projects, too. The single GPU that I have works on Einstein@home and MilkyWay@home, plus it gets an occasional WU from GPUGrid (which does medical stuff). My two "main" clients are still crunching, and the others are not working for now. WCG is still my main interest, so I'm eagerly awaiting its return.
