Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

rna world also need vbox and task have runtime of more than 200 or 300 days. And they don't have much work (18 wus at the moment)

Genes (Tn-Grid) never made problems for me.It could be that they can not provide enought tasks if everyone would switch to them xD

Sidock also works fine for me

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

Sidock and Rosetta I have done recently, Genes(Tn-Grid) I have done before without issue.
Rosetta has CPU tasks with some dry spells, python I have not tried as memory tight.
Sidock has tasks almost all the time.
They have a paypal and crypto coin donation form on the page which may be triggering a/v alerts.
(I am now all Linux and us uBlock origin in Firefox).

This is what I suspect too. I have written to the contact on their site about Virustotal

Using Privacy Badger from EFF which is not really an ad blocker.

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

As a bunch of us ruined our "reliable host" designation by grabbing a queue of WUs to work on for as long as possible during the 2 weeks of resends only, I salute those of you with really fast machines or those who kept short queues to clean up the resends.

Do badges alter behavior? For me... yes. I would have kept my queue short if I wasn't so close to the year badge. :-)

I'll probably be through my queue on the 18th/19th, and not get anymore.

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

Guess I was wrong about Rosetta. I had left it as is and all of a sudden there are 4.20 WUs in my queue. One of my machines was running almost dry.

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

My Raspberry Pi will run Folding@Home. I would prefer Rosetta but it requires too much RAM (about 3.3GB required but my Pi is a 2GB model).

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

Just an update:

Rosetta (non Vbox) has dry spells.

SiDock seems dead to the world

climateprediction.net has no WU

Genes is filling my queues

WCG, for now, is set to get no new tasks

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

Thank you BobbyB.

At time of posting, TN-Grid/Genes has 104 work units left to send.
http://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/server_status.php

Folding at home has 720,965 CPU tasks, and 430,857 GPU tasks, each with multiple generations.

https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats

It is the only citizen science project big enough to absorb our high demand for work over many months.

Re: Where to hang out for 2 month downtime

SiDock is down for maintenance - they should be back shortly.
They wanted to install a new SSD - they rushed to start it in case some WCG crunchers shifted over to 'em for the 2 months.

A member of their team on Discord said until about 20:00 UTC today

OK! Thought I was good. My Ryzen 9 will eat those up. Time to shop around again.

SiDock is up now. Time to try that and Folding. Not keen on installing other software.

TN-Grid/Genes is still filling my queues even if the stats said 0 left shortly after my initial response (the 16th)
