Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

And I'm just sitting here with 14 idle cards. cool I received my first 8. coffee

EDIT: Completed in 4 minutes. It takes my eyes longer than that to focus. laughing

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Hi Kevin

Please could you have a look at my comments at the end of the round 3 thread

https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,32834

They crunch successfully it's just that the toll on the PC is unlike any project we have run at the WCG. We have always had the benefit that the Grid jumps out of the way whenever your ordinary day PC works needs to be done

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Ok, I have sucessfully returned at least 2 valid wu's on each of the cards. Since it seems pointless for me to run more and more on the same cards, I will bow out and let others have them. Good luck on the beta WCG. good luck

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

My 1 Nvidia card (GTX460) got 2 tasks which both failed immediately after starting with the same error message. This card ran prior GPU betas with no issues.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Since there's no GPU requestor button ... from the FAQ:

"A. There are none this present, CUDA or OpenCL based. Clients asking for GPU work at WCG will be told to try again in 14 days."
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,21501

My event log shows no GPU requests in the last 10 days; I'll join the party in 4 days and pick up the scraps. beat up sleep Or is there another way? Raise the cache? praying

Edit: Tripped over the "Update" button and got 4. Miracles do happen. dancing

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

So far 2 on the 680 have returned as invalid, and I am expecting the other 2 to return as invalid (inconclusive currently) as well.

Here are the WU #'s

BETA_X0000130860482201112120938
BETA_X0900060941450200511301449
BETA_X0000131280746201112141248
BETA_X0000130860821201112120933

Knreed I wish you the best of luck.

Only thing I can say is that I did find it somewhat strange that the first 2 that came invalid, one of the hosts on each finished in .02 CPU with no stderr txt for which to compare. My GPU returns work no problem on other sites, and I see you already have valid WU from a 680 from previous BETAs The correct clock frequency is not the 705 as listed, but 1110 MHz, which is boost value, and might have been slightly higher (+15) on some due to me increasing for Einstein apps. And a slightly descreased mem of -15MHz. This was brought back to default after the first one ran I believe.

One thing I will say which was strange, was that on my i5@4.2, there was a roughly 48% usage across all four cores. Not sure what would cause that, I had some downloads going (torrent), which was stopped during the 1st WU.

As a final note, I'm not sure if monitor sleep bug is affected on OpenCl apps, but that has been a MAJOR issue on other sites 295+, which was fixed on R300.

This rig has never returned an invalid WU on anything, CPU or GPU on any site.

Again, good luck

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

@5pot- Looks like they haven't worked out all the kinks for the Nvidia cards yet. I would venture a guess that Nvidia's rather poor driver support of OpenCL is part of the problem.
