Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Tomcast. Did the 680 come back as valid? And if so, what driver were they using. I would really like to know this info.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Everything is valid from here - 2x580, 2x570, 480

Are the cpu processing (start/end) be removed in the future?

rose Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

BOINC 7.0.25
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (1023MB) driver: 301.24 -> 50 valids and 3 pending
Alongside 8 cores 100% busy with CPU tasks.
During most of the tasks on the GPU also a Folding@Home task was running. No negative influence on these BETA's good luck

Elapsed times between 5:17 and 10:31 and CPU times inversely proportional between 1:25 and 5:09.

Remark: Most of the result logs look like:

<core_client_version>7.0.25</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>

</stderr_txt>
]]>

and only a few give the whole information.
But when looking to the wingmen results, I can see their full info.

2nd remark: For the multi-project crunchers, one has to know that running WCG GPU tasks will result in a high Recent Estimated Credit (REC - in BOINC 7 used for work fetch policy), could lead to only WCG GPU-tasks and no CPU-tasks for WCG, but only CPU-tasks of the other projects.

3rd remark: The fast running GPU-tasks lead to high runtime estimates for the WCG CPU-tasks. E.g. C4CW normally has an estimate of 1h50min, after running the GPU's the estimate is 13 hours.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

ASRock A55 Pro3 (CPUSocket)
AMD Radeon HD 6530D Sumo
OpenGL Version 4.2.11566

Picked up 4 Betas:

BETA_ X0000131281489201112141238_ 1--
BETA_ X0000131281251201112141241_ 0--
BETA_ X0000131281309201112141240_ 1--
BETA_ X0000131281354201112141240_ 0--

Initial time to completion shown as 07:17:07

Commencing running causes my AMD display driver to stop working. The Beta then procedes to click away wuth no progress being registered.

I let the first task run overnight for 7hrs 30m still no progress although elapsed time counted up to 07:30:00 and time completion was 0:00:00.

I've aborted and retruned for someone else to have a crack.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Noticed that the amount of credits for each WU dropped during this run from about 125 each at the start to about 75 each at the end.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Returned 4 valid results from a nv 470 using driver 280.26 av run time 5 minutes. I noticed the screen was a little jerky if I did anything while they were running. Was also running 12 HFCC tasks on a 980x @ 3.432. Has to be this speed to allow my 12gb ram to run at 2002Mhz Boinc 6.10.60. Win 7 Ult 64 bit SP1

Yes I noticed that also , with the exception of the first one I ran crying
122.5 / 44.2
and near the end...
88.7 / 35.3

I think these are the ones I ran with a 680 as wingman.
