Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

My only Windows machine is a dual-boot netbook with an AMD E-350 (Fusion CPU/GPU) chip. I received 6 betas on it yesterday evening and all errored immediately with this message:

<core_client_version>7.0.2</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
- exit code -1073741515 (0xc0000135)
</message>
]]>

I updated the Catalyst driver before receiving the last beta, but that didn't make any difference.

GPU has 384 K memory; CPU has two cores; system has 4 GB RAM. OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. BOINC version is 7.0.2.

I run this machine on the Linux side most of the time. It runs POEM and PrimeGrid very reliably. I'll update to BOINC 7.0.25 on the Windows side and see whether that helps with the next batch of HCC GPU betas.

(Edited to add system specs)

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Now that's weird. Umm.... There is no such thing as 301.25. Very strange.

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

I have a a guess as to why some Nvidia GT 430s have been successfully returning results and others haven't. My only GT 430 is in one of my Linux boxes, so I can't personally vouch for this under Windows. Under Linux, if the graphical user interface is enabled, then CUDA limits kernels to a maximum of 5 seconds run time, and jobs will error if the kernel isn't done in that time. If the GUI is turned off, then kernels can run as long as they need to.

I am looking forward to a WCG GPU beta test that includes Linux! :)

Hmmm.. pre-release beta drivers...... That's one risky user.... Leaked drivers eh.... Well they're getting decent reviews, so here goes nothin.

Most of the results are back so here are the results of the test:

sc_hsts = number of success hosts
er_res = number of error results
er_hsts = number of error hosts
hst_rt = host success rate (percent)
video_card = Name of Video Card Type

Re: HCC1 GPU Testing - Round 4

Ummm..... knreed if you happen to notice this, why aren't my 13 invalids from my 680 on there. They were marked invalid (got credit), I'm getting ready to Download the 301.25 pre-beta that the other 680 host had.

Edit= or are you counting successful tasks as ones that ran to completion? without erroring out

EDIT again= Installed 301.25 and everything seems to be functioning as it should. Whenever you're ready again knreed biggrin
