WHITE RABBIT!
----------------------------------------So it looks like everything is back up and running. My 2 machines have just uploaded and reported 161 results between them, all PVal until the wingmen report back and all this side of midnight UTC. Going to make for an odd looking stats graph! Only managed to download 2 more WUs to fill the gap as I write. I guess there's quite a significant demand all of a sudden - hope things settle down soon. |

@ Gordoma:
----------------------------------------My Nan also used to say "White rabbit" on the 1st of every month, do you or anyone else know where that comes from?? and/or what it's significance is?? just be interested to know (one of the things I never got round to asking my Nan before she passed on ).![]() ![]() |

I have a feeling my GFAM run-time may increase "slightly", over the next few days, as it appears that's all the five new VMs are currently running...
----------------------------------------Looking at about 9 hours per workunit, with twenty cores across the five VMs running it. ![]() |

@ Gordoma: I'm not sure. It's just something my Mum did and she probably got it from my gran who I think was quite superstitious. Probably something to do with Rabbits being considered lucky (rabbits feet, etc)?My Nan also used to say "White rabbit" on the 1st of every month, do you or anyone else know where that comes from?? and/or what it's significance is?? just be interested to know (one of the things I never got round to asking my Nan before she passed on ).More pleasant than "pinch, punch" |

@ gordoma & themoonscrescent
----------------------------------------"White Rabbits" on the first of the month is something I got from my grandmother as well! Google produces several ideas as to origin, none of them very convincing so I guess 'lost in the mists of time'. Another one from my primary school days (performed with actions) was "Pinch, Punch 1st of the month. And no returns!" ![]() |

Yesterday's system outages meant the month end was a bit of a damp squib.
---------------------------------------- Only 15 members of the UK team managed to log any contribution and no one exceeded 1 day RT. Total RT for the UK team only amounted to 0:005:07:16:48 I stuck it out 'til 01:30 by which time I'd downloaded sufficient WU's to crunch through the night. Everything seems fine this morning. Monthly stats will be available shortly. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jonnieb-uk at Sep 1, 2012 8:29:14 AM] |

do use free-dc for these? Nope. All my own work. It's been a steep learning curve updating my knowlege of Excel! The trickiest bit is manipulating RT data since y:ddd:hh:mm:ss is not a format recognised by Excel. |
