Not getting e-mail alerts from either WCG or from UK team. This started during recent upgrade to the servers. Not sure what is going on, any answers would be welcome.

@ gordoma Best I can tell it's intermittent. Successfully uploaded 1 CfSW WU at 17:45 and then the next upload at 17:48 failed and didn't succeed until 17:54.
----------------------------------------@ douglasalt1 Now that you mention it my email alerts have disppeared as well. Since I'm on the forum most days I hadn't missed them. I'll have a browse and see if anyone else has reported the issue. I do know that there have been issues with some minor features recently e.g. The Twitter link under My Grid. |

----------------------------------------My machines are typically all running 24x7, apart from rare occaions when something goes down whilst I'm away travelling. I've had a few friends and family signed up in the past, but after a while they seem to drift away, unfortunately. Still, my own stack of cores is non-trivial now so I'm happy to be doing a fair bit. I like the idea posted above of putting heat sinks between the dedicated laptops that do nothing else - they do get warm running 100% 24x7 - generally OK as they're standing up on end, but the heatsinks would help I'm sure - I may try that. @ gordoma Just finished and uploaded my last CfSW WU. I'm about 1,700 hours short of Ruby but hopefully I'll be ok once the techs restart the project.

@ genhos re increase in WU length. As I understand it the increases are one of several measures designed to manage the level of demand on the WCG servers. I think the general level of increase was 20% but GFAM WU's have increased in length by 90%! More info in this post: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=389457
