Re: New Beta Test Started

My Athlon 7750 running WinXP 32bit with Boinc 5.10.45 got 13 WUs and all of them had immediately an error with log

<core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<message>
too many normally harmless exit(s)
</message>
]]>

Restarting the system did not help. Maybe the betas do not like WinXP with athlons...

A new science application... maybe you need to check your security logs (AV/FireWall). Too many exits indicates longer than 30 seconds interrupted communication, so the tasks keeps restarting.

Re: New Beta Test Started

One thing about Beta Testing Participation:

Although all my device profiles are set to participate in Beta, I only received beta WU's on those on the "work" profile (about half my PCs). I tested my theory on a netbook that had the profile "school" (set to receive only HCMD2 and, of course, Beta). This machine has been turned off for more than a month. Started BOINC and received several HCMD2 WUs but no Beta. Changed the device profile to "work" (set to receive HCMD2 and DDDT2, plus Beta), aborted all HCMD2 WUs (sorry about that) and updated the project. The result? I received 2 betas (thanks to the "dual-cpu" Atom-HT).

Coincidence or bug?

Re: New Beta Test Started

I haven't received any more betas in the last few hours. Are they all out? Is it back to regular programming?

--- edit --- never mind, 2 more just arrived.

Just a coincidence on the timing. Mine were 998967071_ 0 and 998925497_ 0

Still trying to snag a few more to get my badge but no luck so far.

Re: New Beta Test Started

Just a comment.
My P4 Windows XP 32 bit got 1 result 8.28 hrs.
My I7 HT Windows 7 64 got 8 results for avg. of 4.3 hrs.
Running Boinc 6.2.28 from WCG.
Looks like it is optimixed for the I7.

Or, the fact that an i7 is probably twice as fast as a P4 tongue
