Picked up another task at 8pm UK time; its just a resend!
----------------------------------------114 Betas, 92 Valid, 5 PV, down to 3 Inconclusive, 14 in progress; one Inconclusive task subsequently validated. Hopefully the other 3 will validate too. As is the norm, the x64 windows platforms seem to generally be doing slightly better than the x86 platforms... maybe next year? Of course the Linux systems are faster still, going by reported times. Some of my CPU's, Operating Systems and CPU task times: Q8400 @2.66GHz Win7 x64 3.70h Phenom II 940 @3.0GHz Vista x64 3.92 Q6600 @2.4GHz (2003 x86) 4.01h Q6600 @2.4GHz (Vista x64) 4.05h Q6600 @2.0GHz (W7 x64) 4.12h Q6600 @2.4GHz (XP x86) 4.13h i7-920 HT @2.66GHz no Turbo (XP x86) 4.40h Intel Core Duo 2.2GHz (Vista x86) 4.46h Intel Core Duo 6400 2.13GHz (XP x86) 4.56h Intel Core Duo 6400 2.13GHz (XP x86) 4.58h E4400 @2GHz (Win7 x64) 4.99h Intel Core Duo 2.1GHz (XP x86) 5.11h AMD Opteron @2.2GHz (2008R2 x64) 5.35h Intel Dual Core E2160 1.8GHz (XP x86)5.61 Intel Core Duo E2140 1.6GHz (XP x86) 6.20h AMD Athlon Dual core (XP x86) 2.1GHz 6.33h Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 4MB (Vista x86) 2GHz 12.43h [Edit 2 times, last edit by skgiven at Aug 8, 2010 2:16:01 PM] |

All 21 of my little betas have reported back as valid. With so few errors it looks promising for a quick launch. I wonder if C4CW could be Crunch For Clean Water?

Wish I hadn't had to go out of town this weekend.
----------------------------------------Over Fri. night my 2.53 Core 2 Duo ran 6 betas ( 3 paris of 2 for its 2 cores), and they all have validated. Took about 2 hrs 20 mins each. I set its profile to receive other projects before I left home this a.m. to make sure it wouldn't run dry before I get home tomorrow evening, so I'm sure I missed out on the the chance at getting more. My slow machine received 4 betas, and was crunching them happily when I left this morning -- not having any memory or other problems. They haven't shown up as returned on the web site yet, though, so I fear that machine may have dropped its Internet connection. I can't wait to get home and check it out. |

evilkats, don't worry about it; I picked up a few resends for Inconclusive first runs, and 3 of my 4 Inconclusive results have since validated. So it looks like there is a good working system:

I wonder if C4CW could be Crunch For Clean Water? Could be - especially as that'd tie in nicely with the weather predictions we keep requesting for the DDDT2 project |

.
----------------------------------------Yea I'm also suffering a bit from DDT2 drought. The other projects are picking up the slack though and keeping the cores crunching. <<< Bronze [Edit 2 times, last edit by widdershins at Aug 8, 2010 12:16:45 AM] |

Just a comment. Or the other way round: it's the i7 which is optimized for computing. ... Looks like it is optimixed for the I7. Try another project (e.g. HCC) to make sure... |
