This video-clip from scientists explain how earth Magnetic field is the ONLY source that is responsible for current (or any other) Global Warming process: http://www.youtube.com/user/BjarneLorenzen Any other??? Venus does not have any magnetic field at all, and the surface temperature of over 460 °C (860 °F) is hot enough to melt zinc and lead. http://dawn.ucla.edu/personnel/russell/papers/venus_mag/ It has a band of sulfur dioxide clouds, and has an atmospheric pressure over 90 times that of earth. It is the second planet from the Sun and is the hottest world in the solar system. Because of Venus' extremely thick atmosphere consisting mainly of carbon dioxide, the planet suffers from a runaway Greenhouse effect. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, with surface temperatures ranging from about −183 °C to 427 °C, −297 °F to 801 °F, cooler than Venus. Mercury has a large iron core, which generates a magnetic field about 1% as strong as that of the Earth.

It is the second planet from the Sun and is the hottest world in the solar system. Because of Venus' extremely thick atmosphere consisting mainly of carbon dioxide, the planet suffers from a runaway Greenhouse effect. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, with surface temperatures ranging from about â183 °C to 427 °C, â297 °F to 801 °F, cooler than Venus. Mercury has a large iron core, which generates a magnetic field about 1% as strong as that of the Earth. What can I say? Each planet is unique. And like you said, Mercury can reach superhot temperatures without atmosphere, so Atmosphere is not a requirement to get hot. I will not even try to pretend that I know everything about the complexity of planetary morphology or the effects that the Planets get from interacting with the Sun. What I know is that our scientists still have a LOT OF QUESTIONS unanswered also and that they can't draw a conclusion based on the flimsy data or theories they have now (that means they are not saying the truth when they act all-knowing). That is why the scientist are not united (as in saying the conclusions are based on undisputed facts and theories) in this matter (climate change). All I know is that Human Race is trashing the Biosphere (Biosphere is the global sum of all ecosystems). Is that what provoked climate change? I very much doubt that. For me it is not so much important the effects of climate change as it is the fact that human race can't live with a trashed Biosphere (whatever Earth final Atmospheric constitution might be). We should concentrate on keeping the Biosphere clean not on trying to chemically balance Earth Atmosphere (something that we don't know too much - hence we can't predict were and how and how much of what creates the atmospheric phenomena as hurricanes, tornado etc.) and even if we do know something, we can't be sure our "pill" will make it better or worse for us, as we don't know too much about the patient or the disease in question. Also releasing poisoning gas in the air is not helping our lungs or birds lungs or other creature but I doubt that the balance of the atmosphere is the only thing here at work in this Climate Change. It is not THAT simple. Just look at the CO2 data to get an idea on human made CO2 impact on Earth's Atmosphere: "The oceans contain 37,400 billion tons (GT) of suspended carbon, land biomass has 2000-3000 GT. The atmosphere contains 720 billion tons of CO2 and humans contribute only 6 GT additional load on this balance. The oceans, land and atmosphere exchange CO2 continuously so the additional load by humans is incredibly small. A small shift in the balance between oceans and air would cause a CO2 much more severe rise than anything we could produce. The reality is we just don’t know." http://noconsensus.wordpress.com/2008/12/06/ten-global-warming-myths/ ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by damir1978 at Dec 23, 2009 3:15:48 PM] |

----------------------------------------About 1/2 of added carbon dioxide so far has been absorbed by the environment. As the temperature of the oceans increase, carbon dioxide is actually LESS soluble in water. Some have already said that the oceans at current temperature can absorb about all of the carbon dioxide that they can.

More catastrophic man made gobal warming evidence ![]() http://www.deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws.english/news/091225_whitechristmas I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white Three inches of snow fell at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which was the first measurable snowfall ever recorded for a Dec 24th since the National Weather Service began keeping records in 1898. And with the snow on the ground Christmas morning, this was the first white Christmas in more than 80 years. The last time an inch or more of snow was on the ground on Christmas Day was in 1926. Dallas, Texas got more snow in one day than Antarctica gets all year. Moisture was pulled in from the very warm Gulf of Mexico. Winds in Texas on the south end of the storm were 40 MPH and winds in Oklahoma exceeded 50 MPH. As strange as it sounds, Antarctica is essentially a desert. The average yearly total precipitation is about two inches. Again, for those that are not listening, when a location is cold and dry, there is not much moisture. Snow and ice pile up in Antarctica because it is not warm enough to melt. The annual snow fall at the South Pole is less than 1 inch (water equivalent) or 3 centimeters. More global warming means more global warming white stuff.

But I hope you did buy that woolly hat and warm coat I predicted you would be needing and what reduced output local star would that be?based on the reduced output from our local Star ![]() Wrap up warm folks ![]() Dave http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/pickoftheweek/old/25dec2009/ Awakening Sun (December 25, 2009) ![]() For the first time in over a very quiet solar year, the Sun as seen by SOHO is sporting 5 active regions (Dec. 22, 2009). The brightest regions in the extreme UV image are magnetic active regions. And the brighter an area appears, then we know that its magnetic energy is stronger. Two of these regions are associated with dark sunspots when viewed in visible wavelengths; the other areas have not developed into sunspots yet. This activity could signal that the long solar minimum is beginning to give way to greater activity levels, but we will just have to wait and see. http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/pickoftheweek/old/01jan2010/ Zipping and zapping (January 1, 2010) ![]() With an active region in profile just at the Sun's edge, the STEREO (Ahead) spacecraft could see it thrust out about a dozen narrow streams of particles (Dec. 26, 2009). The still image shows the largest of these. The kind of surging shows the dynamic nature of the interplay of magnetic field and ionized gas that occurs in a magnetically active region. With an image being taken every 10 minutes in extreme UV light, a movie of these frames captures the solar dynamism associated with active regions.

I am happy its picking up---better warm than cold--if thats what does it? |
