As you will have surmised, your points will add up at BOINCstats, but only if you used the exact same email address as what you used at the ET search centre. As far as not having joined a team, those points simple go to waste. Think to have seen a very large percent of members, that are not part of a team.... they just like to crunch to fight a disease. Only like 5000 members of the almost 300,000 ever posted on the fora. 63,000 actually logged in and visited the fora, to give an idea..... 'Set And Forget' (that the idle CPU cycles are used for a good cause) is their motto.

To me, it's helping fight disease that REALLY counts. If someone has a compelling reason for me to join a team, I'm all ears. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice to find a new home! I lost both parents and my first cat to cancer. I feel that this is a way to help find a cure. I have more and more friends that are being diagnosed with cancer in one form or another. If someone has a compelling reason for me to join a team, I'm all ears. As you know, teams are merely for fun and competition...........there is no compelling reason to join one. *As long as you don't join XS* ![]() |

Teams ought to be about attracting new members (and having a good time, of course... ;-) )

Too bad there isn't a way to transfer work from one client (UD.exe to BOINC) to another.
----------------------------------------I guess I'll just try to catch the machines as close to start as possible to minimize the amount of time lost by switching clients. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by cargod01 at Apr 28, 2007 11:48:09 PM] |

Hi everyone:
----------------------------------------I'm NixChix and I was a cruncher at Grid.org for 5 years. I just found the place shut down and feel like a dope. Like I've had 5 years taken away from me. Here I am now standing at the door of the "dreaded" WCG with 2 posts to my name. I don't know if I'm ready for a new relationship yet. It is reassuring to see some familiar names. I'm glad that some are still using them here. ![]() |

HI,
----------------------------------------I can give you a good reason to join a team. How about saving millions of children killed by ignorance and immorality? Join team abortionNO.org and spread the word. Visit http://www.abortionno.org/ to see the biggest crime this world has ever seen, over and over, every day and judge by yourself. And that is an advice for everybody here, on this forum. Hope you are not scared by my activism. I promise I will not bother you on this subject. Happy life to everybody, who was lucky enough to be aloud one in the first place. |
