Some thoughts:
----------------------------------------Didactylos sees this from the perspective of using running PC's and when they are idle they then run WCG at 100%( unless the defaults are changed) That fine and it is a great source of resources. Seriously Didactylos I agree with your thinking on that. I just think that a broader view is also worthwhile. There are so many motivations that people have that do what we do and every one is good. There is no bad motive as all add to the "pot" of work that gets done.Bring one machine,2 or 222 and it's all good. There is an underlying uneaseiness with the "super crunchers" We need a defination of what that is. I'm definately not one. I have 3 machines in my house running WCG 24/7..Dedicated yes, supercruncher, definately not and why should this even be a issue. They all add to the "pot" and the "pot" doesn't care who did the work, just that it was done. I tell new comers to our team that may voice this sentiment: "But all I have is X machines" My answer is always the same:" Bring what you can and whatever that amount is, it is perfect".. Let's step back and admit to each other that it is the total of what we all contribute that matters, not how we get to that total. ![]() |

Sounds like sound advice. ![]() xm289 I think your post probably violates some nuance rule about personal attacks. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 21, 2006 1:46:45 AM] |

minotaur2b2 I think your post probably violates that same rule as mentioned earlier. I'm happy to help anytime. ![]() Patty: Time to pick up a good book my friend and turn off the monitor for the night. I'm going to catch the rest of the game on TV. remember the old adage: all things grow when fed, remove the food and anything withers away and dies.. Find that good book.. ![]() ![]() |
