I'll echo that. 50 F (9.5C) sunny and warming up fast.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

If it doesn't rain much in the next two days, I should finally be able to get the garage and porch concrete poured on the new house. Fingers crossed!

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'm back from Texas. Wow was it hot. Low 90s inland all week. I did not know they were in a drought before I left. South Texas has not had rain since October 2010. And wind, it never stopped blowing for the 7 days I was there. I guess one good thing came from the wind and drought, absolutely no mosquitoes. This is good since it was a birding trip and we were outside most if the time. We did see 153 different species of birds!
I will post a link later to some of the pictures we got as soon as I get them up on Flicker.

Another thing I did not know before booking this trip, the Mexicans go to South Padre Island for Easter....ALL OF THEM! Well it seemed like all of them. The island was packed out. It took us 2 hours and 45 minutes!!!!! to get back on to the island Thursday night after birding in Brownsville. I think it's a status thing to spend Easter on Padre Island for them. The locals told us it is that way every Easter.
A town of less than 3000 people jumps to tens of thousands. I don't know where they fit all those cars. What a nightmare! I won't make that mistake again. shame on you

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

My son is slowly getting pictures up on Flicker. He is going to post a couple each day until he is done. Could take a week. Check in often.
Start here and go forward.

My son took all the pictures this trip. He is 22 and a birding nut. biggrin
His online nickname is EvilTim1700. He got Evil Tim from his favorite cartoon when he was younger. http://ed.wikia.com/wiki/The_Curse_of_Evil_Tim
It is a pretty funny cartoon. tongue

Nice to see you back. Hope you had a good time despite the South Padre Island experience. The only way I can relate to that is thinking about the State Fair - 150,000 people in a small area. laughing

Cheers

That is a good analogy, or coming from a NASCAR race where there are 160,000 people leaving all at once. Bristol Tn comes to mind.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

INS ceased to exist in 2003 - it was rolled into the DOJ and DHS at that time. The new sub-orgs are now U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Instead of one organization not doing there job, we now have 3. I like the idea of that town in Arizona having US citizens standing armed guard at the border. Get better results. Thanks for the update.
