Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

Now here's a sad one from Redmond, the stream never ending: Installed East Asian Language fonts to get rid of the ???????? to show proper Japanese character.... just 230mb because the boys near Seattle than assume u also want to use the writing tools.... Comes on board on this Monday, not Tuesday, a pushed down notification for an urgent fix to prevent hijacking thru the Korean input feature. The fix is version 1.1 :O

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/ms06-009.mspx

Anyway, now with a translation tool we can 'understand' what our new Japanese members have to ask..... I dare not respond in Kanji or anything, for the tools could translate into a very bad joke....

Seriously, if someone can recommend a good web translation tool for East Asian to western, I'm all ear.

That tool once serious S.U.d a system, thus it will never touch a box again (neither Windows Defender, which is rated the worst of all anti X apps). The option is available for it never to be offered again biggrin

Re: It's International restart your Windows Cruncher day

Yep the Mac did update yesterday with a point release to OS X

I think that too was an enormous 160ish Mb download

but

and here is the difference

We've had the Mac since pre chrimo and this is the first major update

It was very civil about it and told you exactly what was going to improve as a consequence

It left you with a fully working system at the end of it

c.f. the Windows experience - Those uninstall wizards are doing their wizardy things again and the server is off air again and I never touched a thing
