The influenza virus of 1918 never returned. Except in 1919 when it killed millions more. BTW, victims buried in permafrost still harbor viable virus. I read in the CDC website that some researchers built the influenza virus of 1918 using genes discovered under the permafrost in Alaska. Many papers were published in the '90s and after 2000 based on the finding but no cure whatsoever. Those dead bodies were buried underground so it's pretty safe I guess. The only one that's somewhat not safe is the one they made in the lab. In China, bodies of COVID-19 victims were cremated. I hope other countries do the same to make sure there's no chance of a comeback. Like in a football game, China played the 1st half, the rest of the world is playing the 2nd half. No extra time and penalties, PLEASE

This time we got lucky compared to previous pandemias. It should teach us to be ready for the next one. I think we have the medical/technical knowledge to be able to develop cure/vaccine for the next virus that decides to travel the world. I realize that we don't know what that virus will be, but we can be ready with the processes/procedures/technology to analysis and produce the necessary medicines needed to combat these scourges in a timely manner (solutions in weeks, not years).

A well knows german newspaper called Deutsche welle published an article about the recovered patients in Hong Kong. At least 1/3 of them had lung reduced function up to 30%.

We could always crunch Cancer Markers and SCC on Android - prioritize our PC computing power on this new project? |

I guess one can dream that this project and other future projects run on AutoDock will, eventually, run on GPU's.

Guys, it's important to spread the word once the project is up. However, it's quite hard to get noticed in a place like Reddit or Facebook etc. I suggest that if you play any online game, post the the news to the forum of that game or send group email to your team members and tell them to spread the word as well. There are millions of gamers in the world and they usually have pretty powerful computers. That's the resource we need to tap into.

Create the mechanism by which patients can opt to forgo the protections of vaccine approval based on informed consent. I respectfully disagree. A deliberative, controlled scientific process is necessary to prevent unforeseen unwanted consequences, such as Hoskins effects. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoskins%20effect |
