We had a very brief call with the research team today. They're in the final steps of submitting a paper for publication--more info coming if/when it's accepted.
Here are the number of in-progress and completed work units as of last night: In Progress: 99,944 work units* Completed: 35,70,625 work units in the last 30 days - average of 119,020 work units per day *This project does not use batches like some other projects. Also, due to its use of the AsyncRe analysis method, this project does not keep a backlog of work with World Community Grid like many others. See the latest two project updates for details. There is no end date for the project and no expectation of any major pauses in work unit flow. |

We just completed our monthly call with the Phase 1 and 2 research teams.
1. The Phase 2 research team mentioned that they're about 90% done with the current set of data that they've wanted to send to WCG for analysis. The Phase 1 team said they probably have further targets to be analyzed by Phase 2. There will be further discussion about which targets will be most useful. We will let everyone know when we have additional information. 2. There was discussion about possible upgrades and advances for AutoDock/VINA (the software used by the researchers for data analysis). This is in the very early planning stages. In Progress: 99,987 work units* Completed: 3,699,332 work units in the last 30 days - average of 123,346 work units per day *This project does not use batches like some other projects. Also, due to its use of the AsyncRe analysis method, this project does not keep a backlog of work with World Community Grid like many others. See the latest two project updates for details. |

I dont know where in the WCG forums I have to post this, but since I'm running mostly FA@HP2 WU's I'm doing it here. (And because this is a very recent thread.)
----------------------------------------If it needs to be put elsewhere I'd like to know plz. I'm running WCG projects 24/7/365 on 2 PC's (in total 16 cores/32 HTs') and recently my WU cache for 2,5 days has vanished. I run for instance 9 WU's max on my 8 HT's PC. When I ask to raise the number of WU's (my prefs are 2,5 days of caching), I get the message: 23-9-2019 19:24:23 | World Community Grid | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress Wut? A few weeks ago I had about 160 WU's in cache on that machine... Did something change? [Edit 2 times, last edit by DE KOMETEN at Sep 23, 2019 5:56:10 PM] |

DE KOMETEN,
that might have to do something with crunching mostly FA@H2. For that project, you get only one WU per core. The reason is, that new WUs can only be created based on the results of current ones, so it is not good to have too many WUs out for too long. Which projects do you have selected? Do you have non-FA@H2 workunits? (maybe a mod can move the last 2 posts to a new thread) |

The last one doesn't give me many WU's (perhaps 1 WU in 2 weeks), but SCC and OpenZika give me lots. My cache was always around 160 WU's. Every 24 hours, my 2 PC's crunch between 150 and 220 WU's. So that cache is no overabundance. And when I see just 8 or 9 WU's I feel anxious about a possible outage of new WU's. But what surprise me the most is that message I got, because this is the first time in 12 yrs I see it. |

Keep in mind SCC is basically out of WUs for roughly multiple months and Zika will be ending in a week or so.
