I personally think that the project scientists could be a lot more active in these forums - as, after all, certainly for me, it inspires me to continue.
----------------------------------------There have been many times I've wondered as to why I'm here, if not even the project scientists are bothering to interact with us. ![]() |

Very well spoken, I see it the same way! ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Chris311 at Mar 28, 2017 1:00:54 PM] |

I wonder if they would tune in if their projects were deselected en mass?

No need to deselect in mass as long as it looks like you can make the next badge level in the next couple weeks. I've stopped running WUs for this project since I'm at Silver and since I only am running on two laptops in my group, there is no way to make Gold by April. So I'm working on Zika WUs and awaiting the scientists on this project to either declare they are done in April 2017, or more likely we find out they dumped a bunch of new work in the queues and the end date moves out to much later 2017 or into 2018 or beyond. I can be patient now and let the project do its thing and not sweat things ...

rbotterb, the talk of "Mass deselecting projects" was in relation to trying to get the project scientists to interact with us crunchers a bit more. I'm not asking for a post every day (or even every week), but every now and again (say, minimum, once a month) would be a start.
----------------------------------------After all, although they may see it that WCG is providing the "crunching power" behind getting their data - the engine room of WCG is us, the members who donate their time and resources towards producing those results. Without us, there would be no WCG. In regards to SCC, we strongly suspect that the project end date will be pushed out quite considerably - but, as there's been absolutely no interaction from the project scientists, we're simply left in the dark. ![]() |
