If this is true the work load of this project is very small, after one month we are already at 13%. Today 23%. 10% in 4 days..... I hope this indicator is wrong |

And if Android workunits start up again, progress will be even faster!

This is called computing power. Nowadays are not only the CPU faster, but there are still smartphone etc. to it.

I don't think this has to do with computing power. If you look at the recently done work at https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewP...&numRecordsPerPage=30 it has been fairly stable the last few days, CPU time and results returned.
What I've noticed (since I'm tracking it for the last couple of days) is that the estimated completion date for this project is constantly adjusted. This date is in turn used to calculate the percentage and the size of the progress bar: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/api/project?shortName=scc1 Here's my data from the last couple of days: record day est completion difference Since the amount of work done over these couple of days hasn't increased in such a meaningful way, I don't really have a clue why this date is constantly adjusted to such a large degree. |

According to the research page project is already 32% complete currently with May as the completion date Yes, although I'm not (yet) panicking, it would help if the WCG techs gave a 'realistic' end target for this project. If I remember correctly, there was some discussion about changing the formula behind these figures, even if that work hasn't had a chance to be undertaken, just a manual override would help reduce any panic others may feel that this project is ending so soon. That, as well as communication from the project scientists/the WCG techs would help clarify the situation. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Mar 5, 2017 10:38:38 PM] |

Sorta building on gb009761's comment (and if I remember correctly) WCG can only plan what they have on their radar (or within their line of sight). I would find it very strange for a project of this nature (treatments for 4 different types of cancer) to last only 4-5 months. I pretty sure that there is more work (lots of work !!!) to be done. I would go even as far to state that there is a high probability that even the research scientists don't even know how much work there is for the future.

I can't imagine that WCG would be working on a fix to the android WUs if the project was expected to end in May. I'm guessing that we have quite a bit left to crunch.
