Re: Good morning everyone

"Rod Peel Pink" was surprisingly a bit too subtle biggrin. I have reformulated it, so it's now rgb(250,225,230), or hex #fae1e6. It's still a bit pale. If anyone (and I'm mainly thinking Soong, Tom Nuttal, crooks_uk and themoonscrescent, since they're the four people who currently have one) would like a different colour, please shout. Pale green might be better, or maybe Apple Peel!

Ha! They used to call me Orange Peel when I was at school!

Morning all,

I've added a new colour signature, for 250 million to 500 million points.

Nice! But does that mean mine will remain unique then Dave?

Sadly it isn't... reduk has now got one too smile. Also he/she is catching you up fast and will overtake you in the foreseeable future. Use the "Compare" tool on my stats website for the bad news in full detail.

Pretty sure Richard is a geezer. smile I think it's Finnish that has a word 'hen' meaning male or female, that would make life easier.

Just checking out my cool new signature colour biggrin

Well, it's not a badge-milestone (a while to go for the next one), but this feels like a nice one to mention! smile

Awesome achievement. Not that long to get a Diamond 100.

Re: Good morning everyone

FYI, the stats gatherer failed last night, and seems to be still failing this morning. It's getting some unexpected/bad data back, causing it to keel over very early in the gathering processing. Unfortunately I'm at work, and won't be able to look at it until tonight, and if I can't fix it then, it will be Sunday at the earliest sad

Re: Good morning everyone

Morning team :)

I was at a Belfast Giants Season Ticket holders event a few weeks ago, and one of our returning players is the GB International Colin Shields. I was listening to his speech when an idea struck me, he runs his own gym and has fitness qualifications, He works with many athletes, professional and amatuer alike, also helps with injury recovery, so I had a wee chat with him and yesterday I was at the gym being put through exercises that should help me get fit again and yet will not agrivate my nerve problem. I have to say I felt really good afterwards, best I've felt in months. I hope to get fit again as I have largely been been a couch potatoe for a very long time.
I have read some research about how a bit of nerve agitation may help thicken the nerves protective layer, I am going to try this out to see if I can gain a benifit from this. We will try this after I am a bit fitter. Even iif there is no gain on the nerves front, it is worth the effort just to get fitter.

Dave,

You might want to take a look at the thread https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=40823

Yes, I just discovered that myself, thanks Apis, when I started debugging the program. To be honest, like others in that thread you pointed me to, I think it is totally unacceptable and outrageous that they should do this without any notice. We are all volunteers, and the stats/badges/signatures/aggregators etc are all part of what makes it fun for all the contributors.

The stupid thing is, I am simply downloading data that they publish on the website anyway. It is just that I'm requesting it in XML form, rather than the pretty HTML that most people see. I will leave my stats page in case the WCG techies get round to looking at it, but frankly I'm not going to jump through any onerous hoops to fix this, other than to add something to the end of the query URLs. There are other philanthropic projects I can devote my resources to if needs be.

As you can probably tell, I'm quiet upset.

Re: Good morning everyone

I also note that people will be able to request that they don't appear in the stats:
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ead,40815_offset,0#580620
By default, new members will be opted out of the stats exports (which is not quite the same as the XML API, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was included too). My initial reaction to this is that it would make it impossible for me to calculate member rankings within the team and the UK as a whole, if some of the data was missing. So be warned guys (and girls); even if I am eventually granted access to the data, it will probably be much diminished in accuracy and credibility, so this might well be the end for me, because I'm not prepared to publish meaningless and incomplete data.
