Re: Good morning everyone

Hi all, the warmer weather is affecting performance, even in the grim north we saw 24 Celcius yesterday and it's shaping up be higher today, 520k is a little lower than normal, usually more like 550-560k with the odd blip even higher.

Should see a rise over the next year or so, some older equipment is in line to be replaced and some of the 2000 series Ryzens with their excellent price/performance ratios might well make an appearance.

Re: Good morning everyone

Yep. Paul_D generated 520,000 points yesterday, which I reckon is 3.5 million points per week... which will rank him number 2 in the team (sorry Andy!!!). We'll find out for sure when he's been back in the team for a week (on the 12th or 13th).

I know! I'd only just crept back up there! crying

It's OK, I got used to being 3rd / 4th behind Tom and Stephen, I know my place. laughing In fact I'd happily be 1000th, team UK would be flying then!! biggrin

Yes they look impressive, the retail price is just phenomenal - top end server CPU performance on a 80 quid motherboard! You'll have to let us know how those 12nm beasts stack up to the other kit.

Yeah, we'll know soon enough, I ordered a Ryzen 2700x bundle today to replace an old i5 750, I won't be able to give you guys an apples for apples comparison, the 1700x is running Windows 10 and the new one will be running Ubuntu for efficiency gains - and because it's free, and being a Yorkshireman I like summat for nowt.
The only other Ryzen I have running Ubuntu is a Ryzen 5 1600 which is consistently pushing around 95k points a day so I'm expecting a fair old increase with an 8 core at 4.35Ghz, my 'best guess' read total stab in the dark I have no idea would be around 150-160k per day and if its close to that i'll be very happy.

Morning All,

Power consumption looks good at 142w (full load)
CPU benchmark has the 2700x at 17k and 1600 at 12.3k. Their numbers aren't always use-able for BOINC but it gives a ball park. Your stab in the dark looks good. Fingers crossed for top end of that.

Me too (Ubuntu) being half Scottish free is my favorite price. biggrin

Congratulation to all Team UK members for passing the 4th millennium of crunching. An awesome performance but with Paul D's contribution we shoud be even quicker to 5000 years.

Re: Good morning everyone

Good morning everyone. Nice to see three new joiners and a returnee, in just a couple of weeks. Must be triggered by the sudden improvement in the weather or something.
I reckon about another year and a quarter to go until we hit 5000 years, Rod.

Re: Good morning everyone

Good morning all,

I've never seen this before :

A clean sweep, everything Green! Go team UK!

Also happy with my power consumption coming under control, I put both computers on the watt meter and they total 327w
My workstation is 182w (2x 2628L v4)
My PC is 145w (1x 2648L v4)
That's around a third of what my set-up used to consume for similar points.

cheers,
