During the DSFL+GFAM Beta a few weeks ago, i noticed similar time differences between my intel i7 notebook and the wingmen - where my cruncher was the slower one (mostly 25-35 hours). However, all turned out valid. As for these SN2S Betas, time differences look rather normal.
On page 1 of this thread it has been said, that VINA jobs may cause the machines to run hotter - looks like this is true for my machines as well. Any reason why? I am already considering putting the notebook outside, where it has -12°C ;-) |

The 18.43 hour one above is on an old Celeron 400 which had Invalid work units on GFAM and DSFL so likely will be for this. I've had no inconclusive or invalid results in this beta. That includes valid results from a Pentium, P2, P3 and P4. I wonder what the Celeron issue is? |

Another note: Memory usage under linux in the AAB units is less than half the AAAs. 19-27MB resident, so far.

Just completed a WU on my AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core. CPU run time was 00:44:11 with an elapsed time of 00:56:18.
----------------------------------------I've also noticed that the estimated time of the remaining jobs has been reduced by about one-half of original estimate. As I noted in an earlier post, my quad was busy on a lot of other "things" yesterday so that may have affected the estimated time. Also received two beta WU on my slower dual-core (AMD Athlon II X2) and they are showing an estimated 2-1/2 hour run time so will hopefully run a bit faster. That machine typically only crunches WCG projects, however yesterday it was converting some video files so that may also be affecting time estimates. All-in-all, these seem to be running fairly fast. 5 out of 6 cores on my newest system were running this beta and the fans were really roaring. I snoozed it for a few seconds to break the tension. I may have to limit the cores running this project when it goes live.
