Fredski, if you follow the thread under GFAM about bulldozers, they touched on the XP processors. Basically, knreed created a homogeneous class for a couple weeks then decided there weren't enough machines to support it and removed that rule.
----------------------------------------Unfortunately none of the techs notified us that they were doing this and most of the available machines had already de-selected those projects, thereby making sure there weren't enough machines to make the class work. At this point, just go back to not running anything vina on those processors until you hear more from the techs. In another thread older Celerons are reported to have the same issue. Have the WU's all gone? I'm getting steady "no work" messages now. But on the plus side none have failed so far, though a few are still in PV jail.

Looks indeed like the steady trickle has ended, for now. Last arrived 1:25 hours ago. The DCF is now so inflated at 5.5, that the cache became artificially excessively high and no more work is presently being requested. Can't have it all.

At least it's better than the DCF going too far the other way. The consequences are a little more dire. Of course that 5.xxx DCF told one of my laptops that each of its HCMD2 units were going to run for 56 hours. Needless to say it panicked a little

Not going to attempt to count them all, but I had 25 pages of results with only one error (reported earlier).
----------------------------------------My Athlon XP got 12 results with one valid. I'm sure the rest will invalidate as well unless lightning strikes again. Distributed computing volunteer since September 27, 2000 |

My Quad Win7 desktop ate and returned all ok.
----------------------------------------My intel duo core Win7 laptop, the WUs keeps stalling. Have to reboot about 3 times for them to complete. Seems better when only 1 beta wu running at a time with extra cooling on the laptop. Patrick [Edit 1 times, last edit by pcwr at Feb 1, 2012 11:14:17 PM] |

The I/O requirement of CEP2 tasks would have significantly increased the likelihood of a 'No heartbeat' error, especially on 12thread systems!

after running a bunch of beta and that well running dry I switched back to DSFL. Says it's going to take 25 hrs/task; this on boxes that normally do them in 6-7 hours :)
