Appear that all Beta crunchers jumped for the "Wise Beta fishing mode" for sometime since started last Betas... ![]() Probably not, but maybe it was the croot ause for this problem... many people frequently asking for WU's without ![]() It certainly won't have helped... In my opinion, the sooner the system is changed so that, when the Beta box is checked, at least 1 Active box will also have to be selected, the better... (i.e., if/when there's some work for the three currently intermittent projects, people can select them - so that they can get that work, but they then can't participate in Beta testing - that would then have the result of closing that loophole). ![]() |

Not sure how that can happen, Giba. The selected projects were saved, but am still getting work as per the old selection, the last inbound for HFCC being 11:57 today and several of HCMD2 at 12:37. Saw nelsoc reading this thread, thus guess he's heads down searching for the cause and what switch to flick. Sekerob, I have two slow and old machines (Mac and Core Duo) with a very old selection (at least a month or so) just to crunch HCC and NRW that are running and getting WU's without problem. But, I have two other fast Intel machines profiled to run in the mentioned "wise Beta fishing mode" selected (just with intermitent projects selected, to get Betas), which I can't change from this profile to pick other projects WU's. If I change to local preferences profile in the Boinc client, changing my settings, I can modify my work buffer days and other parameters, but not the project preferences which remain the same. When I change again to WCG profile mode (pressing the Clear button at the Boinc client), I return for the same initial looping without any changes. I tried an experience here, and download again the 6.2.28 release in one of this machines, restarted to avoid any doubt, but the problem persisted in the same form. Additionally, I don't rebooted or turned off this machines in the last days, and in all I'm using Windows Vista over Intel processors, with 6.2.28 Boinc client release. Hope it could help tech team in something. ![]()

Appear that all Beta crunchers jumped for the "Wise Beta fishing mode" for sometime since started last Betas... ![]() Probably not, but maybe it was the croot ause for this problem... many people frequently asking for WU's without valid projects attached...just intermitents and Beta... ![]() My change doesn't have anything to do with Beta's. I wanted to change my project mix on a few machines to see if there was anything to the threads discussing a problem with 64bit Windows machines. The problem still exists in that I added FAAH to two of the profiles last night, pulled down some FAAH WUs then changed the profiles to drop FAAH. The devices are still fetching FAAH WUs even though they are not selected in the profiles and "Send Other Work" is not selected.

THis would be a good time to start a Beta. Everyone would freak out because they couldn't change to an intermittant-only protocol!

Same here and I did the same as tluehr did. :$ It may be some problem while replicating website setting to server that controls wu distribution.
