Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The Dunbar lifeboat

Ready to save lives at Sea

The work of the RNLI relies, like the WCG, on volunteers
http://rnli.org/aboutus/Pages/About-us-new.aspx

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea
We [They] provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service.

With our [their] lifeboats, lifeguards, safety advice and flood rescue, we are committed to saving lives.

That thing in the backgtound... oh that's Torness Nuclear Power Station

Let's hope we never need a lifeboat

Dave

Hi Gerald

That reactor was supposed to be in cold shutdown...

Mine with the lifeboat above has since tripped out

See Torness in this link

It's currently consuming 44 Mega Watts keeping the pumps running. The ones that failed at Fukushima as the Tsunami hit

That 44MW is coming from the National Grid - you know the one that in a cold snap could not now meet the UK demand for electricity.
