The States are getting a large dose of Global Warming just now. Of course global warming is causing the cold snap.

On the other hand we all know that unseasonably warm periods are a "glimpse" of what we will get in a warming world.

It is quite simple, really. Mankind is collectively responsible for bad weather. Fortunately, we can make sacrifices to appease the bad weather.

There are deniers who will point to earthquakes and tsunamis as counter-examples. But we now understand that global warming causes frost quakes, and will soon connect the dots to other types of quakes.

We've just beaten the all time hourly low in this temperature series

In the last hour -2.665C

Remember this is a Global Average Temp so cold parts of the Globe are being offset by the Australia's and Dubai's of this World.

Unfortunately there still plenty of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere ahead.

What rising temperatures?

The Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover result is in for December 2013

Since my birth this has been measured by Satellite

December 2013 ranks 8th out of the last 48 years

i.e. 40 Decembers during my life have had less Snow cover in the NH.

In December 2013, in the Northern Hemisphere, 45,274,000 square kilometres were covered in Snow .

For a bit of perspective the total land area of planet Earth is 148,940,000 square kilometres

So, even discounting the Southern Hemisphere Snow cover, 30.4% of the land mass was covered in NH Snow

1,293,000 square kilometres more than the average for all the Decembers in my lifetime

Just the above average bit is bigger than Peru. 5.3 Uk's of extra snow cover.


Pray tell how is this can be claimed to be disappearing and also please explain how this "disappearance" is happening in this mythically warming World?

The reality, and real reason for this increase, is that the average temperature around the Globe is dropping

I'm no denier I am just telling the truth.

Anyone who claims otherwise isn't facing the reality of our situation

and in UK Political speak is being "Economical with the Truth"

Climate does change.

Let them send us back to the dark ages? No.

Me I don't want to go there I would like us to continue the march to a better future.

We need to stop them from rolling back our collective futures and soon.
