Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/nov/26/winter-deaths-rose-third

This piece makes you laugh only in the sense that throughout the discussion on excess winter deaths the emphasis is made that it's not directly correlated with temperature

What about the temperature and the cost of keeping warm?

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Utter utter farce

http://news.sky.com/story/1175864/ministers-to-fund-300m-energy-bill-rebates

Do they think they will prevent the backlash when the lights go out with a £12 rebate on an average UK household energy bill (in 2012) of £1,279 ?

(equivalent to $2097.56/1547.59€)

From the Governments own figures

https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-dat...c-energy-price-statistics

Rotten to the core

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The November 2013 result is in and the average temperature from 2438 NOAA Weather Stations around the Globe was 7.61C

The average temperature November 2012 through to the end of October 2013 was 12.361C

Here's another forum friendly sized graph that updates hourly

The graph above is (at this moment in time) the result of 64,453,935 individual temperature measurements taken around the Globe from NOAA Weather Stations since the beginning of 2011 cool

Remember the UN argue about whether the rise by the end of the Century should be allowed to be 1.5C or 2C. And the Scientist claim up to 6C rise by 2100

and Al got his peace prize

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Year to date

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

0.06C below normal

Just 6 hundredths of a degree C from absolutely normal (wrt 1960-91)

and just 29 whole days left of 2013

The graph went up and is now tending back to 0

as you would expect

If there was less

http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGE...ly.ice.area.withtrend.jpg

and now there is more

How could you describe that as disappearing?

The current trend is towards an increasing sea ice cover

Contrary to popular belief

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover for November 2013

34,765,000 sq kms (6.8% of the Planet's surface)

Average November Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover 33,958,000 sq kms (1981-2010)

806,000 sq kns greater than average (about a Mozambique sized extra bit of Snow)

data http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/table_rankings.php?ui_set=1#namgnld

All that extra frozen Sun reflecting water must have been created on account of the non-existent trapped heat held in by that transparent blanket - the 0.039366 % concentration of Carbon Dioxide today in our Atmosphere

If you think I'm pulling your leg Alarmist Fearmonger then you're not wrong

biggrin

It's just too easy - with measurable facts on your side wink

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

This last week

Average temperature from 2438 NOAA Weather Stations around the Globe

From Afghanistan to Yeman (alphabetically) 139 Countries in total

The first sub zero daily average in a December since I started to capture the data beginning 1st Jan 2011

Global temperatures have dropped off a cliff again
