This really isn't News

The UK Broadsheets have been been doing this for some time as you will see from earlier posts in this thread

There's no way that 2013 was warmer than 2012 over the whole year

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I'd quite like it to be a little warmer in the northern hemisphere this winter. Sorry for wanting to be comfortable, not wanting to haemorrhage my cashflow to the energy companies, and condemning the world to the ****.

and this

http://www.cityam.com/article/1387503110/firms-paid-clock-early-keep-lights

is the direct result of all this nonsense

See first post

It is going to happen

and all by demonising CO2 - a trace gas necessary for the whole food chain and consequently all life on Earth.

A gas that currently makes up 0.039511% of our atmosphere

A gas whose global warming potential is swamped by the self regulating Water Vapour

n.b. I not against improving air quality.

I would much rather my atmosphere contained trace amounts of CO2 than any amount of iodine-131, caesium-134 and caesium-137 for instance

Make it a great day

Dave

Urban Peasant it isn't and you should

Your lungs were not designed to inhale copious amounts of toxic carcinogenic particulates created by setting fire to and sucking on a paper stick that is filled with dried leaves.

But it's a free world smile

p.s. Having had pneumonia I can assure you that breathing is grossly underrated

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

It's the Winter Solstice (in the northern hemisphere)

The shortest day of daylight (thank goodness)

From Sunrise to Sunset we have 7 hours and 22 mins where I live under a cloudy sky. Sunset 3:45pm

Anyone living inside the Arctic Circle will not see the Sun all day

At the other end of the World its the longest day and anyone living inside the Antarctic Circle will not see the Sun set

But for the vast majority of us that distant Summer is on it's way back smile

For those like me who miss the Sun check this out

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Google today has another 'doodle' proclaiming the 'First Day of Winter'.

But is it not really the first day of Spring, from midnight?

Incidentally, it appears from a recent reading of the ship's log of Cook's explorations that 'Ship Time' ran from noon to noon, not midnight to midnight as we land-lubbers currently do.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Meteorologically speaking

Winter is defined as the months of December, January and February

Spring is March, April and May

If only the 21st of December was the first day of Spring smile

Cannot wait to see
