Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Panic !!!!!

Just think of all that Ocean it will displace and where will all that water end up?

Harriscott are you trying to make out that the map of the World isn't static and that it's possible that Scotland and Greenland used to be neighbours and places like Iceland just rose up out of the Sea !

http://www.surtsey.is/pp_ens/gen_3.htm (I'm older than this Island!)

Oh the horror

How many millions of years have we got to adapt?

Or will we all be wiped out by the end of this Century through our own folly and lack of preparedness for a cataclysm such as this?

LOL

I'm sure every year that transatlantic trip gets longer you know wink

There's an extra 0.00002161% further to go than back in 66. Planes will be running out of fuel before they arrive if this is just allowed to continue. Just think about that for a moment...think of the Children

Wouldn't it be something if we were sailing there and it kept getting farther away-- wink

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

It's going to be a long old day

Here the Sun appeared over the horizon at 4:33am this morning

It will go back at 9:42pm (Light much earlier and a lot later thanks to that atmosphere we have and it's light scattering skills)

Ugh and bleary eyes - I need coffee coffee

Northern Hemisphere Dwellers make the best of it, Winter is on it way back after today raised eyebrow

Southern Hemisphere Dwellers whoohoo Summers coming back cool

It will continue to get warmer (and colder in the SH) until the week around 8th August with the Sun having overcome the thermal inertia of warming all those land and sea masses from their cold winter and then the balance will tip and around we go again

Today the Sun will be directly overhead at noon along the line of the Tropic of Cancer and everywhere within the Arctic Circle will have 24 hours of daylight. Likewise everywhere within the Antarctic Circle will never see the Sun today

Gerald the boat you don't want to be in is this one !

http://bc.ctvnews.ca/vancouverites-could-be-f...rthwest-passage-1.1331462

They haven't picked good year for it smile

Remember row a bit, get trapped by ice for days, row a bit, be amazed at how much ice there is, get trapped by ice for days, row a bit, drag the boat to where the magnetic pole used to be in 1996, 750 miles away from the North Pole, then abandon boat and get picked up from the local airport challenge. You know the one to highlight global warming what a bunch of numpty's Humans can be biggrin http://www.rowtothepole.com/

I suspect the Canadians will have it worse and at some point we will have overcome Darwin's natural selection mechanisms and rescue them from their highlighting of the now non-existent Global Warming

Ah another year another batch of numpty's

Round we go again

Dave

As usual WET WET WET for a 21st of June La Fête de la Musique today in France
But i wonder why this terribly wet month of May and these floods in the southwest ( added to the snow melting ) ?
Nothing goes as expected; what Summer might we see ?
Little gardener is a bit sad.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Another year goes by and another Wimbledon begins

Odds on them needing to close the roof on Centre Court this year.

I'd say an absolute certainty

Where are our mild winters and blisteringly hot summers we were promised by the doom merchants?

Bring back '76

Ee I remember back in 2006 when it was so hot I bought an air conditioner

(Couldn't give it away in 2007 biggrin)

Ah the good old days when the Sun used to shine cool

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

hugs America flag

Welcome to my World

Come in pull up a pew and make yourself at home.

Let's talk about it. We're about 7 years further downstream and could enlighten you about a thing or two.... just before it goes dark.

Don't worry the rest of the World rest assured we will all be left out in the cold, together, sooner or later.

Meanwhile back in the real world of the Climate it is, without a shadow of a doubt, getting colder. That's what a thermometer says, not Politics.

Night USA from the other side of the pond, 0.0685 mm further away than yesterday.

Well golly, I'm pretty sure the US has a president with an all-of-the-above energy policy.

The coal industry has done pretty well under Mr. Obama

Numerous respected journalists have explained that claims to the contrary are falsely promoting a myth

What could go wrong?

Bjorn Lomborg has written a couple of short articles recently:

I wasn't joking when I started this thread

http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/27/britain-risks-b...-in-power-crisis-3860110/

http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/Media/PressRel/Documents1/27June2013.pdf

One cold snap and the whole house of cards will fall

To prevent it all we have to do it keep shutting down our industry and our lifestyles

Genius

Dear USA, Europe, Australia and soon the rest of the World

See above ... this is how it works out

Meanwhile at the North Pole http://sunshinehours.wordpress.com/2013/06/23...tent-most-ice-since-2004/

But these facts never make the light of day

This insanity will cost lives

So why persist down this road?
