Resistance to warmism must be 'treated'
Warmists have jumped the shark -- or maybe make that jumped the Stalin. The old Soviet trick of defining political opposition as a mental illness is back, this time at the Unioversity of Oregon. Their media relations folks are bursting with pride that one of their faculty is faithfully recycling, in this case from Uncle Joe:

Resistance at individual and societal levels must be recognized and treated before real action can be taken to effectively address threats facing the planet from human-caused contributions to climate change.

That's the message to this week's Planet Under Pressure Conference by a group of speakers led by Kari Marie Norgaard, professor of sociology and environmental studies at the University of Oregon. In a news briefing today, Norgaard discussed her paper and issues her group will address in a session Wednesday, March 28.. http://www.americanthinker.com/printpage/?url...mism_must_be_treated.html

Sceptics need treatment for our “resistance”, this professor insists:

Resistance at individual and societal levels must be recognized and treated before real action can be taken to effectively address threats facing the planet from human-caused contributions to climate change.

That’s the message to this week’s Planet Under Pressure Conference by a group of speakers led by Kari Marie Norgaard, professor of sociology and environmental studies at the University of Oregon…

“We find a profound misfit between dire scientific predictions of ongoing and future climate changes and scientific assessments of needed emissions reductions on the one hand, and weak political, social or policy response on the other,” Norgaard said.

Actually, Professor, that misfit may be due to the implausibility of those predictions, given how many have already not come to pass.

But, no, the professor insists we must be made to believe: http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt...and_its_not_the_sceptics/

Yet more evidence of the incredible decline in the North Polar Sea Ice

http://www.natice.noaa.gov/ims/images/sea_ice_only.jpg

laughing

Disappearing fast LOL

All that cold that dropped southward last year giving us Snowmageddon stayed put over the polar ice cap this year and the above graph is evidence of that fact

It's down to the unpredictable chaotic position of the waving jet stream

Something else in the Climate System that Man doesn't control

Gore has just 2 years for his Nobel Peace Prize Speech prediction to come to pass

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/91...imate-change-targets.html

Not satisfied with reducing National Fossil Fuel consumption by 80% by 2050 our Government would like to include all Air Transport and all Shipping in that figure.

So not only will we freeze to death in the dark our imports and exports of goods and foodstuffs will almost disappear as well

..and we do this unilaterally

To save the World from what?

Great Britain - that drought stricken nation laughing

Lunacy of the highest order

Not too long to wait

http://www.jaxa.jp/countdown/f21/index_e.html

until our favourite Sea Ice Graph returns to full operation via the new Satellite

Roll on May 18th

The graph above was created from data from the Aqua Satellite, The AMSR instrument onboard was shut down on the 4th October last year http://www.drroyspencer.com/2011/10/amsr-e-ends-9-years-of-global-observations/

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

In the twentieth century intellectuals foisted Communism on the world, thus ensuring that millions of Russians, Chinese, Cambodians and others would be killed for their dissent. Intellectuals are always the first to embrace every dictator and to excuse their methods.

The warmists are increasingly desperate as their dreams of global domination are falling apart. http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/arti...ions&utm_medium=email

Subsidized and Expensive Solar Energy Bites the Dust Again
29

Solar Trust of America, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware courts—the ninth solar energy company to bite the dust—adding to the previous list of BrightSource, Beacon Power, Ener1, Evergreen Solar, Fiskar, Solyndra, Sunpower, and Spectrawatt.

Solar Trust of America, which listed assets between $1 to $10 million and liabilities between $10 and $50 million, was unable to meet the Department of Energy loan guarantee deadline. The $2.1 billion loan guarantee was “the largest amount ever offered to a solar project.” (The Washington Examiner) http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/arti...ions&utm_medium=email

Have a read of this Gerald

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-212...rs.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

I hear that the potential £10,000 "Green Deal" loan will have to be paid back through an increase in your Electricity/Gas charges.

And the improvements will be mandatory

.... It's why in your declaration of Independence it says "He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."

Nothing has changed this side of the pond since 1776

The "Green Deal" will land on us from Autumn this year

Crunching while I still can

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/je...araway-utility-bills.html

It appears that the concept of Man Made Global Warming isn't about raising taxes after all. It looks like I have made a huge error in judgement

...not

biggrin <- at least smiling is still free

here's a supplementary page to clarify one of the subjects of the Telegraph link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum_revenue_tax

The key thing to take away is this "the marginal tax rate on PRT paying fields is now 81%"
