Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

snip
Right I had best get going

I am up at this hour so I can cycle to the station and get on the train to London

Why don't I have a car ?

We carry the burden of our own successes and failures.

One lesson learned early in live.

The Angelinos found out last week [about absent public transport] when Mulholland Drive was closed over a 78km stretch... people not going to work or sleeping at the office... people accepted and behaved as was required in the circumstances.

Food for thought, but not for all!

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

and the point relating to incredibly toxic polonium is..........?

For reference the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is 0.0393%

CO2 is required for all life on the Planet. It is our food chain. It's our chemistry.

Have a look into Organic Chemistry and ask yourself where do all those Carbon atoms originate from?

Every last one started out as the C in atmospheric CO2

Have a look at a lump of limestone - it's Calcium Carbonate CaCO3 every last molecule of CaCO3 contains a CO2 molecule taken from the atmosphere by a coccolithophorid alga and deposited at the bottom of the Ocean in times gone by

Has this process stopped today?

14% CO2 is over 350 times the level found in Air

Are you really claiming that CO2 levels today are unnatural?

The point of toxic polonium is that you also noticed that something can be toxic in extremely tiny concentrations.

CO2 levels have spiked only in the few hundred years since the industrial revolution. In those past epochs it took millions of years to go through a phase.

The oceans have absorbed about as much CO2 as they can, so are getting more acid, not helping the coral at all. Coral also dies from increased water temperature.

I said "small enclosed space". If you breathe CO2 into a paper bag you can find out what asphyxiation means. Indoor air can contain typically up to 0.1% CO2. That isn't the same as outdoor air either.

Apollo 13 CO2 levels reached about 2% before they got the scrubbers working again. That number also doesn't have anything to do with the concentration in the air, which means nothing in a space capsule. Misdirection will not help your denying cause.

http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=12529&page=112

Carbon dioxide is the major expired by-product of human metabolism; if not effectively controlled, it can rapidly accumulate to dangerous concentrations in spacecraft atmospheres. On earth, the outdoor CO2 concentration is typically about 0.03%, and average indoor air contains CO2 in the range of 0.08% to 0.1% (IEQ 2006). In nominal spacecraft operations, the CO2 concentration is typically about 0.5%, but the concentration approached 2% during the troubled Apollo 13 mission (Michel et al. 1975). Carbon dioxide can also enter the atmosphere of a space habitat from accidental combustion of materials, from operation of payloads that use CO2 as an intravehicular propellant, and from use of the fire extinguisher, which, on the U.S. segment of the International Space Station (ISS), is CO2.

In actuality, climate change policy will result in great displacement, mass impoverishment and genocide. Much has been said by real scientists on these issues such as the Sky Dragon Slayers, Piers Corbyn, Anthony Watts and thousands of others. The policy documents from the Club of Rome and the United Nations to Ecoscience detail their true agenda, in their own words. Historian and economist Webster Tarpley recently gave a lecture dissecting this documentation revealing their agenda of deindustrialization, mass involuntary sterilization, global depopulation and the establishment of what they call a “planetary regime” or what Senator Brown calls a “world parliament.”[3] India is already giving away cars in exchange for male and female sterilization.[4]

Instead of the 1984 and world domination meme, suggest you guys read "Animal Farm " by the same author. Little surprise there will be... you'll be standing up and act the new capos... not a world the majority will be looking forward to.

Food for thought, but not for all [and less by the day]

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Retsof Polonium is toxic in the sense that it emits Alpha particles that literally destroy your bodies tissues from within

CO2 is a gas your body creates and is designed to cope with

1 molecule in around 2500 in air is a CO2 molecule

How good is that green house effect with just 1 pane in 2500 not broken?

I am not denying CO2 isn't a so called Green House gas I am questioning its efficacy as to the root cause of the warming seen up to today. That would seem only reasonable given the political ramifications slowly being unleashed upon us all.

If there really is an unfolding climate crisis I'm right behind you

Given that the warming has stopped and isn't progressing up up that predicted curve then something is wrong with the hypothesis

My gut feel that the World is unlikely to warm by 6C by the end of the Century and great clouds of methane are not going to erupt from the Sea and incinerate us all is so far borne out by reality

and surely in a scientific endevour the truth is what we are looking for

Isn't it?

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

data up to 1994 was ok for you and Scotland

The first beam data with the full CLOUD experiment is expected in 2010.

maybe that's the reason behind the recent Met Office gathering

For the funpack, seems the involved CERN scientists have been committed to give no interpretation whatsoever on the findings... open to any xxxx-heads interpretation, of course led by Steve Goddard and Anthony Watts. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread731028/pg1,

Food for [conspiracy sufferers] thought.

Oh, lead is poisonous too... as the ultimate decay product, which is why it was taken out of e.g. fossil fuel production process!

Once upon a time there was painter colic caused by lead poisoning [knew of it at least 45 years ago]. The things men do to themselves and the larger environment. Seems it's still ongoing in the USA http://www.pollutionissues.com/Ho-Li/Lead.html and a commentary to the article in April 2011.

Food for thought, but not for all!

P.S. samples taken of deposits at the very heart of the Antarctic, where there can be bare rock found, showed that over 99% of the Pb has the isotopic signature of being... Man Made. Puny man reaches everywhere... which is which we moved from Holocene to Anthropocene... Earth changing impacts.
