Keith, I'm sure you'll accomplish anything you put your mind to, academia included. Just practice dropping Foucault and Derrida references into casual conversation and you'll be dropping names like Cornell West at a Slavoj Žižek talk... Huh??? Who??? Actually, odds are it'll be more like this hillbilly talking about folks determined to slap the backside of a polecat, having a knack for rubbing their ears together and the like. |

Well MOT, I am very much impressed with how AQUA handled their rollout. In six days they rolled out the project, fixed the wu’s so they didn’t blow up
---------------------------------------- , made a change so you are not automatically opted in to GPU crunching (default is CPU on and GPU off), reduced the wu size to something manageable and now made the credits better (I’ll have some numbers in the morning). Not a bad week’s work for “Boinc Admin” their head honcho. The best news is they will run on any CUDA compatible card. I started one on a 8500GT and it is 5+% complete in 3 hours. As you have 15 days to complete a wu, anyone can do it. I know you have one Dave ‘cause the 8500GT I am running came from the same IBP machine you have. The more GPU crunchers ... the more credits for MOT. Speaking of credits ... we are about to pass User Friendly dot Org. *snicker, Snicker SNICKER* You know who is on that team? If you don’t I’ll provide a hint. It is Chris’ most favorite CA. Happy trails MOT ... ![]() ![]() |

Happy trails MOT ... ![]() LOL - I knew who was on it when I saw the name of the team! ![]() [Edit] Oh yeah - at 234K credits a day, they will be behind us in a matter of hours. [2nd Edit] Okay - all signed up for Aqua. Already got my first GPU wu. [3rd Edit] Hmmm... I suspended a GPUGrid wu so it would start working on the Aqua WU, and the temperature of my video card dropped 10C. Boinc shows it's crunching it, though.

Wow - MOT is at position 204 making 1.3 million credits a week. The 3 teams in front of us are only making 300K a week. I think we are going to break out of the 200's in a day or two.

Fueled in large part by new recruitment, instead of the team bankrupting itself. It's good to see MOT grow horizontally (in numbers) in addition to technologically (GPU crunching FTW!). |

Yep, are are awsome are we not? It comes from having a great Captain and a great team. Each rung on the ladder gets tougher though. I'm feeling quite good tonight. ![]() ![]() |

I know you have one Dave ‘cause the 8500GT I am running came from the same IBP machine you have. DM (or Chris) -- I have tried setting AQUA@home up on my IBP, but I get the message, "Can't use CUDA app for D-Wave's Adiabatic QUantum Algorithms (CUDA): Your computer has no CUDA device." Not sure how to proceed. I have suspended AQUA@home for now. When I look at the information under Devices, Display adapters, I see, "NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i" [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 2, 2009 4:16:41 AM] |
