Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

NixChix,

Thank you for this very interesting story. Your family is really impressive!

To answer you, I had never heard of dog poisoning with avocados.

Also, that my parenthesis was perhaps not clear, in French the word 'avocat' designates both the lawyer and the fruit. So Google Trad put the word 'lawyer', thankfully I reread to check.

Finally, about the avocados, the best I ate was in Chile. In France, most of the time we add mayonnaise or vinaigrette. There, I ate them without anything, they were so good.

Little Mermaid,

---------
As said on facebook, when you eat chilli, you should always have a slice of bread butter next to it. In the Arab countries, they say that you have to eat bread to make the prick. Being Breton, I added butter, and it works even better.

Yes, I would think the butter smoothes the chili burns well.
At the Portuguese restaurant that served panna cotta on the house, said it’s the cream – the dairy product – that helps, stefada.

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
I wonder what happened to our host Captain.
Does anyone know anything?
I’m glad that NixChix is underway from California. How many stopovers will it take to Schiphol Airport?

Chit-chat
I went for a walk with a friend in the forest today and we sat on a bench to enjoy coffee/beer
– it was in fact Heineken
– watching a young jackdaw (Corvus monedula) seeking food – just a young one;
he didn’t have the colors right yet. That bird seems not to live in the USA.
He came closer and closer. He was not afraid,
and all of a sudden he jumped upon my friend’s leg and began studying the Heineken can.
I hope to move to SNURK and Friends tomorrow and even the camp site, hook up electricity,
and dig canals to drain the rain water.
I wish NixChix a pleasant flight. I’m afraid we're in for
heavy downpour and thunderstorms later this evening, so take care up there.

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
After having joined SNURK and Friends , I checked the payroll there.
I’m very happy to welcome NAP2614 to Base Camp’s GRAND GALLA SNURK CELEBRATION trek.
You have already earned the badge designed by yourself, nap biggrin

BladeD has earned one as well – he’s a native member, he lives there, it's his home team.
For once we may see he remains in the trek for the duration laughing
Three tents pitched already.
Pretty good considered the trek doesn’t officially begin until September 1
I hope NixChix's flight goes smoothly.

Chit-chat
I need to update my signature. That will be later today.
I’m off to dance with my friends, and all of a sudden my Senior Citizens book club which was down to one + me have had three joining – one of them a man. Very rare. So that gives me extra to do as well ….
- you should see the movie ’Book Club’ if you haven’t done so already smile

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I am almost finished loading up the aeroplane. I have placed a row of new decals under the open cockpit and left room for many more.

I will stop in Boston to pick up some Samuel Adams and in La Habra to get some Hass avocados (and Fuerte too).

Next stop Schiphol Airport.

Cheers coffee

Such a neat way to put them, NixChix - I cannot help but show you another type of decals sitting on a vehicle in my city tongue

It's like having your own private UPS freight plane. Take care not to overload - I have shrimps for the luxury version of my plain avocado starter.
Next stop Schiphol Airport. Beware of little Fokkers on the runway! laughing
Have a smooth ride Word has it that all systems are working at Schiphol today.
@ BladeD, move up on the list confused - by me staying below you? crying
Yesterday's movie should land on your list, too. 'I, Daniel Blake' - British (mainly).
Look forward to hear your opinion about 'Book Club' when you get the time to see it.

I haven't given it a thought to be honest.
Why not?
When would you find it convenient, TLD?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

So, NixChix, I think you can take a box more of avocados ! And Little Mermaid, you can double your shrimp stock, which I love that. The last time I was in a specialty restaurant in Brittany, I ordered a seafood platter for four, as a starter.
