I thought each represented one of the three "Providers" controlling the planet Triskelion.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

@adriverhoef. Thank you for noticing my 10,000 results. Were it not for you I wouldn't have known
@NixChix: Exactly! "arf, arf" must mean "more treats" in Dog - perhaps it's a Californian dialect of Dog.
I shall not be able to judge as to what role 'triskel' plays in Star Wars - but I'm working on the sci-fi part of my brain.
Started softly (I assume) with 'Iron Sky' and 'Fantastic Four', recommended by acpartsman and BladeD.
They must think I need some upgrading sad
@stefada: What would Louloup say if he wanted more treats?
I looked up 'triskel' in Danish and find it's an ancient symbol.
Celtic, but the ornaments are not very different from the Viking ones.
It would be nice to use it for a badge some day.
You have been fast achieving 10,000 results, very fast, stefada rose congratulations smile

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Has Little Mermaid been missing in action so she could see the new movie... confused
The Little Mermaid (2018)
No, BladeD, I didn't see it.
not talking I starred biggrin
To be honest, it has not arrived in Denmark yet. I read it opens on November 15 here.
I’m sorry to have skipped a day. I was on a Sunday outing with a friend
to a fairly interesting place - a a co-op village - like an open air museum
that demonstrated how people cooperated solving all kinds of issues in common.
A dairy founded by the milk farmers in a district, a grocery store where the consumers had a say,
and all those things that were very important for developing Denmark.
The coop idea is still in use in say housing coops, windmill coops and more of today's contemporary dealings
started by a group of interested people, and owned and operated by them.

As for our current challenge trek:
I haven’t seen any posts from MOT recently. Is Captain keithhenry completely bogged down by the mishap of his 'stats-cooker'?
You out there, you still have time to earn this neat badge.

Join MOT
In fact there is plenty of time for you to start your collection of Base Camp badges.
We’ll stay where we are for another 11 days!

Well, reading what he said, I don't think it would be a simple task. wink

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

----------
How does Louloup ask for a treat?

If you're on a walk, he'll lick the pocket (of my pants or the bag) where they are. If you are at home, he will lick the cabinet where they are stored.

Sometimes he'll just sit and lick his chops and wag his tail. But it can also mean that he is hungry or thirsty.

If he's really hungry / thirsty and we're at home, he'll go lick his bowl of water or kibble according to what he wants. And if he really can not take it anymore (I have not been fast enough, it can happen), he begins to go back and forth between his bowls and the kitchen curtain (he does not have the right to enter it is the limit).

He does not have the floor, but he knows how to make himself understood.

love struck

----------
A Native American legend (I do not know which tribe) says this:

One day, animals speaking the same language as men, we make a secret judgment, to exclude them. And the Great Manitou decided to punish them, never again would they understand men. But as dogs and horses had opposed this plot, they kept the faculty of understanding men. However, as they had not warned them, they no longer have the right to speak like them.

thinking

----------
Concerning the Triskel, I know essentially what is said in Brittany, the Celts version, and there are already many versions. But it is a symbol that has been used a lot, it is enough that there are three elements. So I'm not at all surprised that the Vikings have some too. We have already seen that the Vikings have invaded Brittany for almost a century, there is necessarily cultural exchange. But in addition, there is a theory (which I can not find), which says that the Celts and Vikings are 'cousins' from Eurasia, who migrated some from the north and others from the south of Europe. Which, if this theory is true, would make that there are common traditions really very old.

NixChix,

Même si ça n'a aucun rapport, j'ai beaucoup rigolé ! Il se trouve que le meilleur ami de mon Louloup s'appelle Spok !
----------
Even if it has no relation, I laughed a lot! It turns out that Louloup's best friend is Spok!

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

@BladeD: Yes, I think you’re right. Captain keithhenry has his hands full restoring his stats system.
I have already mentioned this once, so I’ll not repeat the accidental convenience …
@stefada: It’s always charming to hear about you and Louloup. I’m so glad the two of you found each other.
As to the triskel, I think it would be a good idea for the badge for our The International Team 2.0 trek
which we promised Captain flodisar to do when he had established himself as a captain.
@NAP2614: If you would like to take a look at how we could use a triskel as a badge for flodisar’s team, it would be great.
@NixChix: Which treats do you get your dog? The two dogs I know get Dentastix.
They should double as a toothbrush. The problem is they disappear as morning dew for the heat of the sun.

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
I thought something had gone wrong with the WCG update. I kept seeing the message about what was going on,
but at some point I called it up for real without using F5. That helped.

Business
Our MOT challenge trek runs smoothly – same crew, same good production. What can I say?
I think we have every reason to be satisfied, but we wouldn’t mind getting one or two more Base Campers on board.
We have this badge for you when the trek is over if only you donate one single WU to MOT.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Once again everything is quiet on the MOT front.
I would say too quiet.
One thing is that Captain keithhenry had his 'stats-cooker' giving way, and I agree with BladeD
that it is probably work to get the stats going again.
But he could just post some words - they don't have to be stats.
Words will do in the meantime.

Business
Captain keithhenry entered MOT reinforced with our Base Camp crew in some challenges.
In three of them we are #3 behind Team China and Decrypthon,
in the fourth - Small Cheese Challenge - we are #2 behind Team China, and ahead of Team Andrax.

We can offer you this badge for your participation if you donate as little as one single WU to MOT
If you would like to begin your Base Camp career with a comfortable trek, this is where we do it.
The most fun we have had has been the beer - and later on Puppy treats - that NixChix has brought in his backpack.

Chit-chat
I'm working on my Berlin trip. It takes me considerably longer to plan the - well any - trip than to do it.
We need some fun - I'm going in September, so I cannot offer an Oktoberfest.
I can offer the ultimate German street food: Currywurst - a sausage with ketchup and curry.
Some have it with bread or with french fries. We'll just have it straight.
I'll get some for Puppy without the curry - Crunchie loves curry; says it keeps the cyotes at bay devilish

Currywurst... it doesn't look like sausage. hmm, looks interesting. Except I don't eat street food. [shaking fist] There is lots of it were I live and I don't touch it. That is part of my strategy to stay free of norovirus, hepatitis, etc. not talking

Cheers coffee

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Inasmuch as I'll say your staying away from street food is a sensible precaution given the threats to your health, NixChix,
- and on top of it you may get a less fatty diet
I would think the currywurst is ’clean’. It is a usual sausage – Frankfurter – which is chopped up in bite-size pieces,
and you get a small plastic fork to stab them with.
As to hepatitis, I was vaccinated for the type A in connection with a trip to South East Asia and had a booster some 10 years later.
It doesn’t protect against norovirus, though.
When I was hospitalized in January, there were several rooms with carenteened patients.
Yes, norovirus. It's explosive in a hospital environment where people are ill as it is.
All the food and drink we usually took by self-service was restricted to be handled by the kitchen staff only.

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
Business
Sorry to say, nothing has changed for good.
Happy to say, nothing has changed for bad, either.
Same crew, same stability.

NAP2614 has made a badge for a trek we shall do in October – just one week.
It will go to The International Team – it will be the The International Team 2.0 trek.
stefada, if you would be so kind, could you please copy it for the website where you keep the Base Camp badges?
Wasn't it fast we found use for the triskel? It's a beautiful pattern.
We promised Captain flodisar to be back when he was named captain of this team.
But first we shall carry out Base Camp’s GRAND GALLA SNURK CELEBRATION trek
for – in fact and no less – the entire month of September.
I hope SNURK gets around to knit TDL the badge he asked for many moons ago.

Chit-chat
I may not be able to post for a couple of days because of company and outings, but I shall if I get the chance.
In the meantime I trust you to behave. I have filled up the refrigerator with beer, soft drinks, milk, and watermelon.
Say, do any of you drink milk?
