Quand un écureuil se demande à partir de combien de noisettes on crunch assez ?
When does a squirrel wonder from how many nuts we crunch enough? ![]() |

She's right here, BladeD
Nice list! Yes, isn’t it? stefada, I may be wrong, but I think I read that squirrels stock up on nuts like maniacs. They forget where they put them, but they have so many hiding places that they are likely to bump into several of them when they need to eat. Perhaps they bump into other squirrels’ stock – and they on their part bump into some that are not their own, but they all find nuts to eat. Good Morning Base Campers! Business We did not get more help to advance SNURK and friends – on the contrary. TLD went home to SeriousCrunchers. Thank you for being here, Ted September is still young. Lots can happen. We may see Base Camp’s GRAND GALLA SNURK CELEBRATION trek expand drastically. I believe we can make this grow … of course, I do ![]() Chit-chat Today I passed Køge new Water Works not far from me. An amazing building. Rainwater will splash freely from the sloping roof and land in the narrow bed of reeds and boulders. The glass facade at the same time reflects this bed the surroundings, and lets us look inside at the machinery. Wow! What a lot of water - I'll be back on a rainy day ![]() |

Little Mermaid,
---------- More seriously, I heard the same thing about squirrels. They have so many reservations that they forget about it, but that does not stop them from eating. A priori, it serves some trees to reproduce, the seeds being buried, it makes things easier. And I recently read that squirrels also favor the development of certain mushrooms. |

Thank you for explaining the Base Camp Filosofy to Kevin Grabher from Austria, BladeD.
Say, did you ever get a Rosie? If not, she’s yours now ![]() If you did, you now have double. It happened before many years ago …. And I have no records any more. Good Afternoon Base Campers! Business We are the same friendly crew as yesterday working for SNURK at team SNURK and friends. I asked our present Captain SNURK to join the THOR Challenge 2018 Y3-W1 which runs from September 24 to September 30. I thought it could be a Grand Finale to our Base Camp’s GRAND GALLA SNURK CELEBRATION trek. Captain SNURK did so immediately – thank you Captain and he told that SNURK and friends celebrates its 5the birthday on Thursday September 13 (good thing it isn’t Friday). All taken together, it’s a very festive September for SNURK and friends and for Base Camp. Too bad that not more crunchers want to take part - on the other hand it leaves more cake for this excellent crew Why not make a head start? ![]() Chit-chat Went with Tessa’s ’mother’ to the surgeon who removed a growth from her chest two weeks ago. He told her it had actinic keratoses in it, and that he was darned sure he had removed it all in that spot, but she will be examined by a dermatologist for occurrences in other places. She takes all that has happened to her lately: Money stolen from her by intruders, a son turned unpleasant her car stolen (found and waiting for insurance inspection) and now this skin cancer with a stiff upper lip – that’s when it doesn’t smile. She’s 84. ![]() |

Yes, stefada, those squirrels are stupid and smart simultanously - and fill their stomachs while being it.
I didn't hear the one about the mushrooms, but why not? Tomorrow I'm going mushroom picking with a friend - if the rain holds back it is. This spring, someone I met on a walk generously identified the habitat of a delicious one the 'Karl Johan' in Danish (boletus edulis) named after Swedish King Karl XIV Johan, who is rumored to have had an affinity for that one. My friend is good at distinguishing edible ones from poisonous ones, so I rely on her for survival. ![]() |
