---------------------------------------- Now it seems to work: it downloaded succesfully many new tasks, until now, it dowloaded ons new task once in a blue moon. I hope it will work in upload too. I'll be able to give you a feedback tomorrow (it's impossible that boinc end actuaal task before I came back home). ![]() |

For me Boinc 5.10.40 does now get through authenticated NTLM proxy to various projects. I did not need to set the <force_ntlm> flag. (Does it mean my proxy uses BASIC auth type?) Tried all new <force_auth> flags with 5.10.41: basic and gss-negotiate are fine, digest and ntlm do not work for me. This means my proxy server probably uses BASIC auth type. Or just the negotiation? ![]() |

wow all works now!
Using .41 with <cc_config> <log_flags> <file_xfer_debug>1</file_xfer_debug> <http_debug>1</http_debug> <http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug> <proxy_debug>1</proxy_debug> </log_flags> <options> <force_ntlm>1</force_ntlm> <force_auth>basic</force_auth> </options> </cc_config> |

Excellent.
For future visitors to this thread: the <force_ntlm>1</force_ntlm> flag no longer exists, so you can remove it if you are using 5.10.41 or later. |

Hi, everyone.
I tried three month ago to migrate from WGC Agent to Boinc unsuccessfully ;-) I just want to try one more time... So with WGC agent no connection problem. I try 5.10.30 but i've got problem with connection. I read this post and install 5.10.42. I try cc_config : <cc_config> <log_flags> <file_xfer_debug>1</file_xfer_debug> <http_debug>1</http_debug> <http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug> <proxy_debug>1</proxy_debug> </log_flags> <options> <force_auth>ntlm</force_auth> </options> </cc_config> And i still have problem. I permit to put my log, if you can help me :D thanks : 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] HTTP_OP::init_get(): https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/d...tta_5.18_windows_intelx86 20/02/2008 08:59:08|World Community Grid|Started download of wcg_hpf2_rosetta_5.18_windows_intelx86 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[file_xfer_debug] URL: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/d...tta_5.18_windows_intelx86 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] HTTP_OP::init_get(): https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/download/hpf2_5.18_win_paths.txt 20/02/2008 08:59:08|World Community Grid|Started download of hpf2_5.18_win_paths.txt 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[file_xfer_debug] URL: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/download/hpf2_5.18_win_paths.txt 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#75] info: Could not resolve host: secure.worldcommunitygrid.org (Domain name not found) 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#75] info: Expire cleared 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#75] info: Closing connection #0 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] HTTP error: Couldn't resolve host name 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#76] info: Could not resolve host: secure.worldcommunitygrid.org (Domain name not found) 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#76] info: Expire cleared 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] [ID#76] info: Closing connection #1 20/02/2008 08:59:08||[http_debug] HTTP error: Couldn't resolve host name 20/02/2008 08:59:09||[file_xfer_debug] FILE_XFER_SET::poll(): http op done; You have a different problem. Your DNS resolution is failing.
To get started, we need the answers to a few questions. Do you use a proxy? What operating system do you use, and where did you get BOINC from? Is your network connection working properly in every other respect? |

RE: BOINC client (windows_intelx86 5.10.45)
I am, once again, trying to convert a PC, currently running the WCG Agent, over to the BOINC system. However - it appears that I'm still having http proxy problems. I tried this a few months ago, with an earlier version of the BOINC client -- there have been a few more changes made to the BOINC system -- BUT - there doesn't seem to be any improvement for me. 1st problem: When I add the Proxy info into Advanced -> Options -> HTTP Proxy -- It matters not what I change the Proxy Address and port number to be the correct ones. The client_state.xml file ALWAYS gets changed back to my computer user name and Port zero. It refuses to keep the Proxy URL and port number. I can modify the client_state.xml file to contain the correct URL and port... Then the BOINC client seems to get through the Proxy OK -- until I stop and restart the client, then the Proxy URL is once again supplanted by my computer ID and port 0. 2nd Problem: Added below is the trace info. Maybe someone can figure out why I can't seem to contact the Server correctly. My existing World Community Grid Agent (non-BOINC) still works fine through this proxy/firewall. If this isn't resolved at the end of May -- this particular computer will drop out. Thanks for any help. -- George This is the cc_config.xml I am using: <cc_config> <log_flags> <file_xfer_debug>1</file_xfer_debug> <http_debug>1</http_debug> <http_xfer_debug>1</http_xfer_debug> <proxy_debug>1</proxy_debug> </log_flags> <options> </options> </cc_config> 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Starting BOINC client version 5.10.45 for windows_intelx86 3/25/2008 12:24:09||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops, file_xfer_debug, http_debug, proxy_debug 3/25/2008 12:24:09||log flags: http_xfer_debug 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Libraries: libcurl/7.18.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8e zlib/1.2.3 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.26GHz [x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 4] 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Processor features: fpu tsc sse mmx 3/25/2008 12:24:09||OS: Microsoft Windows 2000: Professional Edition, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00) 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Memory: 1022.98 MB physical, 1.88 GB virtual 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Disk: 37.26 GB total, 10.31 GB free 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Local time is UTC -7 hours 3/25/2008 12:24:09|http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/|URL: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/; Computer ID: not assigned yet; location: (none); project prefs: default 3/25/2008 12:24:09||No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Reading preferences override file 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 511.49MB 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 920.69MB 3/25/2008 12:24:09||Preferences limit disk usage to 9.31GB 3/25/2008 12:24:54|http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/|Sending scheduler request: Project initialization.
