after a project finishes processing it shows a Ready to Report status. Is thre a time interval for these stats to report? On the other client you could see the info go across and your points tally. Not sure if I a have a probloem with a firewall when using Boinc.

Work is reported when the agent next contacts the server for more work.
This isn't usually immediately afer a task finishes, because BOINC queues work, and has the next task ready to start immediately. This means you get more crunching done. |

It depends.
It will always report work before the deadline, though. |

You can force it to report by clicking the Update button on the project tab if you are as OCD as I am.
---------------------------------------- Otherwise you can wait for the BOINC agent to report automatically.![]() |

NixChix,
Thanks for the hint. Yes it's true I spend entirely too much time here. Heck I have to try and time it so I can crank up the jobs in the task manager when they kick off. A job running in Below Normal causes a major guilt trip. |

You can crank all you want, the science is programmed to only run at lowest priority regardless what elevation is given in the task-manager. Remember, the design is using idle time without impacting user experience, or at least keep that to the lowest possible order.

Messing with process priorities in task manager can render your PC unusable (until reboot). Giving a process that will run for several hours a low priority ensures that all other processes get their chance to run, but the low priority process will get all the time that the computer would otherwise be idle. It doesn't run slower, it is just last in line to get to use the CPU.
