![]() ![]() You nailed it. Thanks! ![]() ![]() Now the next question: Is there a way to remove a team once a race starts? The reason for this is so when the time comes that my team cant compete in a class of competition, a separate team that can offer the challenges to introduce the class of competitors. I can do this by making a team called, for example, WCG SPORTS, with one member called PaceCar. The team is fake but as member PaceCar, I launch the “invitationals" based on the outcome of the heats and wildcard events. Assuming the invite causes an actual race, the pace car should leave the track. If no competition, the race should be called. So before I go doing all this, I wanted to know if guys mind and if you have a way that you might want this operation handled? You may want to have control of the pace car invites, how often or at all. But it is operations like this that allow the killing of many birds with one stone. What this will produce once enacted, is a class structure the ends the problems when phantom class teams have to only compete with heavyweights. A problem inherent in single open class systems. With the current tools, this limited structure could explore and test a path you may want to pave later, at no actual cost now. This will also help reseed the system during a time when people are looking into the new year, and new beginnings. The combined momentum of a well co-ordinate action on this front right now could do much for near future convection of team involvement. So now the real question: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() Tell me, why is IBM GCC not seen as a team that "places". All the other teams place correctly, but IBM GCC doesnt seem to show. What is funny is that they hold 2nd place in the team "win place show" catigory. Meaning, they have the 2nd most points for wins. How do I know this? My team holds first. Since I counted the score maunally, I offset the figures to take this into account. Else my lead would be larger than it should. I mentioned this a while back, thinking it was a bug, but is there something else? ![]() ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by courine at Nov 20, 2007 2:54:18 PM] |

Courine,
Which team is IBM GCC? I don't see a team with that exact name, nor any that would have those initials... Also, which challenge is it that you're referring to? Or, if it's all the challenges with IBM GCC, can you link to one as an example? Thanks. |

Sorry, my bad. IBM Brasil - Global Command Center is the full name. We call them IBM GCC for short, when they come along side to pass us in runtime. It is easier to say when letting go the catapults of customary builge dung. YARRRRRRRRRRR!
----------------------------------------You will love this. I was setting up the last set of heats for the WCG SPORTS. I was paying special attention to not messing up the dates. Oh, I got the dates right! But messed up the type on 2 of the races. WCG SPORTS Heat 9R Run Time 12/03/2007 12/07/2007 WCG SPORTS Heat 9T Results Returned 12/03/2007 12/07/2007 The best way to fix this is to flip the letters. The convention is: R = Results, T= Runtime. If you could, please fix this. I know its a small thing, but Im sure people will let me know of this detail, over and over again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Since I counted the score maunally I was looking for the results of challenges that ended November 27 but couldn't find them anywhere in the team challenge history. I remember seeing it as active on November 26. Do the challenges disappear after they are finished? I have 3 history pages, but they are not in there. Perhaps this challenge was aborted and hit the wall. I don't remember what it was, so will wait for the end of the month challenges to try to track them.I'm a little new at this captaining team challenge thing. I may know more tomorrow, as some of these challenges ending November 30 get done. I have the Beethoven's Birthday Challenges. Next year, I will probably have Groundhog Day and Buzzard Day challenges coming up. They won't get confused with the others because of odd end dates. Since there's no handicap, larger teams would tend to win anyway. The only place that we can recruit for more members (except the signature) is in our own team thread, which is like preaching to our own crunchers. It's more like keeping them from leaving than getting new ones from somewhere. I was testing the limits of the challenges. 2 days seems to be the minimum. I successfully set up a 5 month challenge from 12/01/2007 to 04/30/2008 called the "Little Notice Challenge". I wanted to start something farther out, but am having problems with whole months. A one year challenge starting 01/01/2008 and ending 12/31/2008 was "too far in the future". I might have found a bug, but there might also be a NUMBER OF DAYS outer limit on a challenge. 5 months from 01/01/2008 to 05/31/2008 is illegal, because "the start date must be after today". Perhaps the challenge must be issued within one month of when it should start...since we are coming up on the November/December Month boundary.

Good questions retsof. You can click the "view all challenges on WCG" at the bottom of the Statistics by Teams page.
----------------------------------------Also, I have a question. What happens to the upcoming challenges accepted by one team capt. if another capt. takes over? ![]() ![]() |

Good questions retsof. You can click the "view all challenges on WCG" at the bottom of the Statistics by Teams page. That might do it. I started to check statistics, but got distracted. I guess I had been there from a different screen. Ay, there's the rub. The orange picklist was buried in the middle of the orange color, and I had to change it to "past challenges". The little gray arrow and box was the only clue. Also, I have a question. What happens to the upcoming challenges accepted by one team capt. if another capt. takes over? That's one reason I am here. The previous captain never issued/accepted any, so I abstain. Since they are part of the team, I assume that the challenges would remain. Any member should be able to look at his team screen, and the challenges would be there.![]()
