Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Just started again doing CPU work units on my AMD Ryzen 5950x machine again (32 thread) in addition to the GPU work that I have been doing, but those seem to have dried up as of late. The CPU units seem to be running smoothly with a good cache flow for the time being. Will crunch on for the time being as long as things are running well. Good day.

Yes, there is a lot of chatter about the GPU units drying up as well as the African Rainfall units. I don't have any GPU's that can run any of those, but there appears to be quite a few people who have them and don't care to see them idle. I run about 90% MCM as that project does not have any GPU units and I have known a number of people who have dealt with that scourge.
Good to hear from you.
Cheers

Well, I can tell you the download problems are back. I increased my cache to 2 days in hopes that I only need to deal with download problems once a day. Just as an aside, The Windows system seems to have more problems withe down loads than the Linux systems. At any rate, it is just annoying at the moment and not a deal breaker. Really wish they would get it fixed though.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Am seeing download issues too. Hope it’s fixed soon. If not, will stop crunching and check back later.

It will be nice when it can back to "set and forget" mode. I will keep an eye on it and post an update if anything changes.
Cheers

The downloading problem is better today. I have had no problems with the Linux systems, but the Windows system still has sporadic download problems.

Yes, I have noticed the download problem did not exist today. I hope I don't jinx it. I did have a brief power outage which kind of threw a monkey wrench in the works for a little bit, but basically no harm done. Everything came back up as normal. Probably had something to do with the heavy amount of snow on the trees and wires.
Cheers

I, too, am sensitive to the jinx issue, although I'm happy to report my downloads are running smoothly as well.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Back to more snow today. The forecast is calling for another 5 to 7 inches(12.7 to 17.8 cm).
At least the wind has not come up yet. But the cold is coming. 32F(0C) now but will be about -10F(-23C) in a few days. When the wind does pickup I hope it does not rattle the wires too much or there will be more of those mini outages.
Cheers
