Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I just wanted give us all a friendly pat on the back. Despite WCG still struggling with multiple technical issues, it seems like we're still chugging along on the research front : ) With the WCG stats sites not working so well, I've been using the third-party https://stats.free-dc.org/team/bwcg/6206 site to take a quick look at our progress from time to time.

Our team just passed 1.3 billion BOINC points today - nice going!

And within the past month, chrisfeyen passed 1.1 million, jkw4338 passed 8.5 million, FlynRyan passed 300 million, mclaver passed 400 million, umakemep passed 30 million, and Element6 passed 14 million.

I know we're here for the contributing to the research community, but just wanted to get a little fun celebrating in on the side! : )

Thanks for chiming in. It is good to hear from you. I may start up another machine if the supply of work units continues to be stable. So far for the last 2 days or so I have been getting a steady supply of OPN1 units, but nary a one MCM1 unit.
All of you guys with GPU capability look like you are getting a steady supply of OPNG units. I have no GPU capabilities so I am just CPU. I can tell by the point totals you are all doing great.
I hope the issue with the stuck downloads is now behind us so the research can go forward.
Cheers

Thanks for bring that to my attention. I had not bothered to look at any of that for a while. Just glad to see they are updating the stats now.
Everytime I see the signature SDSurfer my mind always wants to translate that South Dakota Surfer which would be a kind of an oxymoron I guess. San Diego is just not the first thing which comes to mind.
Glad to hear from you.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

In the past couple of days, I have noticed some improvement on getting/downloading tasks. Things are getting a lot smoother now.

Pretty good from my end, although, one system still gets the occasion error on MCM of failure to get input files. Real hit and miss.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I made some upgrades. I bought the new Intel Arc a770 and a friend gave me an Nvidia Titan Z. Both have been pretty productive on Einstein@home but unfortunately no GPU work on WCG.

My bid to catch SDsurfer is delayed.

From the looks of some members, they must be getting quite a few GPU units as several of them are putting up staggeringly good numbers, some over 500,000 BOINC points. I expect you will see some of them soon also.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I will be taking time to be thankful for all the things I have, loving family, enough to eat, warmth, health and many other things too numerous to mention.
Hope all of you are well.
Cheers
