Re: Minnesota Crunchers

A nice gentle rain today. I have about .8 in (1.9cm) in the rain gauge today. It looks like we get slightly more before it finishes. Well needed rain and just the right kind. Might be a frost tonight, so I am glad I do not have my tomatoes out yet. I still use May 30 as the default date to put the garden in. I do have several tomato plants started and they will go in this weekend. The baby chicks are growing and I will probably move them on next Monday or Tuesday.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Am done with GPU wu's until I get time to change the software. Thought I would try one more time with current update but most are invalid. Seems weird but not wasting my time on GPU wu's if they all turn invalid.

Don't blame you. Are you just going to try to update the drivers and/or existing software or will you try something radically different ?
Edit: I just read about your M1 and mbotmiller's reply. It sounds like this would be quite an efficient cruncher even with the emulation layer. If you do try it, let us know how it goes.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Once I get my new mini setup right with good backup, then will give it a try. I cringed spending $1300 but my 2010 mini is about to die and have 800 GB of photos on it to pull off and put on the new mini. Swore I was done with high price apple but with iphones, its easier to swap photos and videos than a pc.
May try going back to previous software for the GPU and try again. But since crunching with it, my fans ramp up allot more when I play my games so could be on its way out too. And since there is a chip shortage going on, buying a new gpu is out with the higher prices.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

have 800 GB of photos

You must take a lot of pictures. That would certainly be the pits if that crashed with no backup. Good luck with that.
Cheers
