Re: Minnesota Crunchers

They said it was going to be hot and it is. 97F(36.6C). Probably going to be hotter tomorrow.
Hope all you Minnesotans stay safe from the heat! It's about 90F today where I am in the SE U.S., but much more expected than MN in the upper 90s in early June.
With the warmer weather starting up, my upstairs cruncher will go dark until fall.
Starting in a week or two, I'm likely going to be ramping down a few of my machines as well through mid-September.
It appears that Paul D has retired from our team. We appreciate his contribution.
Take care Paul D. On a different note, it looks like Whirl08 has really cranked it up a notch in the last week. Whirl08, please feel free to say hi and if you fired up some new hardware recently, feel free to drop a line about that too : )

I know a guy who lives near Atlanta, Georgia. He says it is in the 80's, but very humid with the dew point in the upper 60's. Right now it is 98F(36.7C) but the dewpoint is only in the 50's so may actually feel cooler here than in Atlanta. Hope we get some rain soon.
You are so right about Whirl08. Those are some hefty numbers there.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

It's been sunny and high 75 not too humid just about every day here in southern California. Makes for good stable crunching weather but the electric costs are on the high side compared to MN. Been nice to enjoy the last few winters without shoveling though.

Will keep on crunching the Covid projects pretty exclusively for the time being both here and at F@H. Would like to see the scientists gain a better understanding of the Covid virus and also see some treatments for long haulers hopefully.

Good day.

So I was looking up team stats on BOINC and this red squiggly line kept appearing under my version of "Minnesota"

Here in the much easier to spell state of Washington it was a brisk spring day with a mix of sun, breeze, overcast. Not enough for my spouse to forget the San Diego climate that I dragged her from but still a nice day. She doesn't see the big deal about seasons.

I like the understated humor. Speaking of seasons reminds me of the old joke about a weather forecaster in Hawaii.
"Today's forecast is for the temperature to be in the 70's to low 80's with a chance of some rain sometime today." Forecast may be used 365 times a year except in leap years, then use it one more time. laughing

* My wife likes seasons, as long it is spelled "Summer".
* Im also in Washington and the nice weather came just in time. Through march and april, she was looking at homes in Florida.
* My main crunching rig is down. Im not sure what the issue is but I suspect it s the power suppl. I need to find some extra time to diagnose it. Maybe when it rains again.

I don’t see him here on WCG. Did see his stats on that link. Impressive.
