Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I still see him. Checkhere
Cheers

I don’t see him here on WCG. Did see his stats on that link. Impressive.

I see them on the list here on WCG> But you have to go to page "2".

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Gotta love the windows 10 auto-updates. Sure you can postpone them but after a few days or weeks it will auto-install anyways and restart your computer, regardless of what important work you got running in the meantime ;). Also sometimes the updates break things. Linux doesn't have this problem but getting GPU's to work with Linux is not my strong suite. Also most of the programs and games I use are on Windows. The struggles. Good day.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Reason why I stay with win7 pro. Will be interesting to see the new windows coming out soon. My guess, still windows junk.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Because of this I have changed my allocation on OPN. I am back to almost all MCM as I reduced OPN to just one instance per profile. On a couple of my faster machines I threw in an ARP project also. Those ARP work units take at least 24 hours or longer on my machines so that will put a dent in the results total.
Cheers

Considering a compromise to go MCM and OPN although part of me wants at least that 50yr badge on OPN which is not too far off. What I will do is add MCM to the crunching profile but limit those work units to half the available cores on the machines. GPU's are still willing and able to go full force on OPN if the hoppers ever fill.
Good day.

You should get that. I think the project will be around for a while yet. The biggest bottleneck now seems to be the researchers ability to deal with the results they are getting. Withe reduced flow, that should extend the life of the project, unless the researchers get either more help, or have some kind of a breakthrough.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Changing over most of my threads to MCM has resulted in quite a bit of pending validation units. I am up to 23 pages of pending validation. I hope that stabilizes soon.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I set the profile to allow up to 24 MCM units per machine at a time, at first I got some work. Right now it's back to all OPN units in the buffer though. GPU work seems to have really fallen off recently.
Good day.

Good day.

On my 24 and 32 thread machines I set the profile to 30 MCM and 2 OPN. I figure the supply of work units is steady enough to run with essentially zero cache on the 32 thread machine and an 8 cache on the 24 thread machines. I have yet to see them run dry.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I spent a little time trying to get the i3 cruncher back on line. I tried to boot do USB media, cleared CMOS, etc. But I was looking at the coincell and thought, "when is the last time I changed that?!" I put in a new one and everything is grand.

Back up and crunching.
