Re: Minnesota Crunchers

If there is any danger of it rotting and falling on any thing I would cut it down...

It is a pretty sturdy tree yet. If it dies in the next year or two, I will cut it down. It is a boxelder and it keeps the woodpecker occupied.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I had to turn boinc/wcg down to 60% cpu usage due to overheating.

Guess it'll have to stay that way until i can get better heat sinks.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Shutting my dually down for the summer. Wanted to get my 10 years on ebola before shutting it down, which will be tonight. My hex will stay on though.

With the warm temperatures coming this weekend, I'll probably be cutting back on some of the systems to just running overnight. Cheaper on juice too.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Power outage in Richfield starting around 5:20 AM today, lasting about an hour.

Heard a thunder and suddenly my fan turned off and my 3 UPS started making noises to let me know the crunchers were running on battery power. Got 'em all shut down within about 10 minutes, and fired back up once power came back.

Got about a year each on the 2 new projects, and almost 20 for MCM, which is my goal for that project. Looking to get 10 years each on the new projects eventually.

Good luck getting it on the TB project. Those WU's are few and far between. You could babysit and get units on the 3=33 plan, but maybe once they get through the preliminary phase of the project, they may get more plentiful. Even with the drop in priority for the Zika project, those still seem fairly plentiful. Good luck.
Cheers

Some where you said that you had been running a system with a flash drive and it was doing well. What brand/size of flash drive. I have noticed a huge difference in some brands as far as durability.

Thank you..

Sandisk 16 gb. It has been running continuously since May 19, 2015 with only one shutdown to blow the dust out of it. I did not think it would last this long, but it is still going.
