Lost my Internet connection today for about 6 hours and to top it off my MacPro lost a hard drive. In the process of restoring it. Had to go buy a hard drive. 500 gig Seagate, 7200rpm, 109 bucks. <sigh> ![]() Sorry to hear both items. You must be a victim of the Thailand floods. I had no idea a 500gb drive had been driven up to that price level. That should have been about $49 a couple of months ago. At least the drives are still available. And what's with the internet outage ? I thought most ISP's had some kind of redundancy built in to their setups. Did you ever hear what caused the failure ? Cheers

Not a word about the cause. The guy reset my account and said that would ensure the my connection came up asap after the service was restored. All in all I have been happiest with this ISP, it was my first outage in the 11 months I've been with them.

You should of asked around for a hard drive before paying that kind of price. Could have sold you a 1TB hitachi (used) cheaper than that.

Hello fellows....
----------------------------------------Early spring kind of weather, warm horisontally rain Poi did I get severely loaded today.... Went to this place where they sold some odd beers... On menu there was mention that it has 8% of volume alcohol so did understand it more like pint of vine... Taste of it was absolutely something like over-sweet warm milk with ton of honey, there was not really mearly any kind of hint that there is even smallest amount of ethanol as component. There was not either any carbon dioxide on it, did not have time for breakfast earlier so zap it quite merely down down down... It was absolutely like sipping some candy..... Insidious did not get any biofeedback either on time where learn to usually receive some, so really was on that impression that did have some nonalcoholic one, so did order another one... And poi did went down without any breaks on the road... Then when sawing beef to pieces did receive this king hammer to head -effect....... All the sudden did realise how very loaded I was........ Kind of fun have to admit ![]() ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by ultimaThule at Dec 17, 2011 11:55:32 AM] |
