Hello fellows.... Early spring kind of weather, warm horisontally rain Poi did I get severely loaded today.... Went to this place where they sold some odd beers... On menu there was mention that it has 8% of volume alcohol so did understand it more like pint of vine... Taste of it was absolutely something like over-sweet warm milk with ton of honey, there was not really mearly any kind of hint that there is even smallest amount of ethanol as component. There was not either any carbon dioxide on it, did not have time for breakfast earlier so zap it quite merely down down down... It was absolutely like sipping some candy..... Insidious did not get any biofeedback either on time where learn to usually receive some, so really was on that impression that did have some nonalcoholic one, so did order another one... And poi did went down without any breaks on the road... Then when sawing beef to pieces did receive this king hammer to head -effect....... All the sudden did realise how very loaded I was........ Kind of fun have to admit ![]() Must be having the same weather here. Over 40F(4.5C) for the next couple of days. May not be having a white Christmas here. Very unusual. Good news is my heat bill is looking much better. Also the budget of the city and county is so far good as far as snow removal costs because they have not had to spend any. The winter is young yet so we may still see plenty of snow and cold. Good thing you did not have any of their 13% brew. The head hammers would have been even bigger. I may have to see if any of their brew is imported anywhere here. I have never had any beer such as you describe. Maybe I don't want to either. Cheers

Forecast looks like a brown Christmas for Minnesota. Unless jack frost steps in to help us. I don't care how cold it gets as long as the car starts. Someone else can have the snow. I'm getting tired of clearing it. I don't have to shovel the low temps. |

I'm getting tired of clearing it. I don't have to shovel the low temps. Yeah, car starting can be an art when it is cold. A plug in is most helpful if available. Tune up before winter helps. When temps drop low enough, I use the 10% gasahol alternative. The alcohol eliminates the moisture from the fuel system, thus avoiding gas line freezup. Mileage takes a hit a little bit, but some of that is lost to idling anyway. At least the car starts. I had a relative who was stationed at Elmendorf AB just outside of Fairbanks Alaska. When it got below about -40F(-40C) they would just let essential vehicles run 24 hrs a day. They only stopped the gas ones for fueling and the diesels you can fuel while running. Pretty much everything had a plug in and frost shields on the windows. I don't mind the lack of snow. It is easier on all the equipment and vehicles. I am not wearing out the snowblower. However, I would not start judging the winter until the beginning of April. Cheers

Woo hoo, the poem@home OpenCl app for ATI and Nvidia is out:
----------------------------------------http://boinc.fzk.de/poem/ So far it's just for Linux. I just got 20 WUs, and the first one has been running ok for a couple of minutes on my AMD Fusion CPU/GPU. The site now lets the user specify preference to use CPU, ATI GPU, and/or Nvidia GPU. I am running BOINC 7.02 on that computer, by the way. I'm not sure whether that's necessary, but I understand that 7.02 handles OpenCL better than earlier BOINC versions do. (added as an edit) Here's a link to a site with the info that got BOINC using my ATI card under Linux: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=6307&sort=5 I needed both the "sleep" and the "xhost" fixes. ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by kateiacy at Dec 18, 2011 7:59:10 PM] |

That's why our small engine mowers and such break down so easily if you don't treat gas with stay-bil or some other treatment. I don't mind it in the winter but I wish I had a choice in the summer. As for snow.... I'm content not seeing it in person ever again. Now where is that plane ticket to the islands. ![]() |

I used to run pure synthetic in the winter on older vehicles I have owned. Always cranked great and started right up. My 2008 jeep uses 5w20. So thin I don't need synthetic. Never had an issue with fuel freezing though. But I do keep my vehicles in the garage. Would rather have 10 feet of snow than 10 below tempature.

Would rather have 10 feet of snow than 10 below tempature. Spoken like a true snowplow driver Cheers X-driver now. Still recovering from the back surgery. The body doesn't like the metal in my back. Will find out in about 4 months if it comes out or not. Was hoping to be driving something by now but guess it's going to be awhile. ![]()

Wierd weather indeed -- blizzards forecast for Texas today, while MN and IA look toward a brown Christmas.
----------------------------------------Bearcat, very sorry to hear that the things aren't going quite as you'd hoped since the back surgery. Good luck with the continuing recovery! ![]() |
