Re: Almost 100% for FA@H - Phase 2

We're pushing for some progress website update, but until.... 50,000 CPU years and continuing per plan to end of 2008 with the upcoming phase.

Re: At 43% for a few months now. Any updates?

I got a HPF2 work unit today, although I have selected only FA@H in my profile, where I allowed alternative projects if no work is available for my selection. I guess this means that we must be close to an end of this phase of FA@H.

I been getting steady FA@H WU here on my 2 rigs just got assigned another WU 15 Minutes ago...

I wonder if they're pushing to finish up the older FAAH stuff for the new Autodock launch?

Re: At 43% for a few months now. Any updates?

We are waiting for Scripps to validate the results that we have sent them from the new AutoDock 2007 version. We will keep on running old-style work units for FAAH until we get the word. Yesterday we ran 111 years for FAAH and only 67 years for HPF2.

Re: At 43% for a few months now. Any updates?

That's not quite how I read it. Because the new and old units are incompatible, there will actually be a break between the versions. All the batches being sent out will be flushed, and then new batches will be loaded for the new version. The new version supports flexible sidechains. Looking at the progress of the current experiments, I suspect that the plan is to complete all the previous experiments on the old version before starting the flexible sidechain experiments.

The new version will still be able to do rigid sidechain experiments, but I expect that the scientists don't want to mix results that aren't bit-wise compatible in a single experiment, because it will make verifying the results difficult to impossible.

Maybe one of the staff or a FAAH scientist can jump in to confirm or deny...?

Present FA@H experiment (8b) has probable about 4 weeks to go before depletion at which time FA@H Update will be released. Those having selected FAAH will simply observe a small gap , possibly filled with HPF2 (for those on 2 or All projects) and be upgraded with the new science.

50M is truly impressive! We are crunching full speed. In fact, Dr. Morris and Dr. Perryman's updates concerning the new experiments in the other threads are really informative. Seems that we are up-to-date on the information, so this is very motivating.
