Sounds good. By the years processed method (20,084 years processed/29,000 total estimated processing required) x 100 puts us at about 69%. Given that this per centage number can be off by a few percentage points it seems to agree with your results.

Just a small update to report a major number: 18:00 UTC, Fight AIDS @ Home passed the 35,000 CPU years of crunching on over 30 million work-units completed.
----------------------------------------Using the last Work Unit extrapolation factors we're now about 68.64% done towards completing phase 2 of this Project in search of a cure. ![]()

Today we reached 21,014 years of processing FAAH Phase 2. This puts us at about 72% completion of Phase 2 (about 29,000 years of processing to complete Phase 2).

Larry,
----------------------------------------Using Lawrence's "Completed Work-Units" based algorithm we were at 00:00 UTC Nov.18,06 on 69.67%. There were 30,716,859. Think we all prefer the 72%. cheers

Larry, Using Lawrence's "Completed Work-Units" based algorithm we were at 00:00 UTC Nov.18,06 on 69.67%. There were 30,716,859. Think we all prefer the 72%. cheers The completed work units method tends to slightly underestimate the per centage completed while the years processed method tends to slightly overestimate per centage completed. The average of the two seems to produce accurate estimates so we should be at about 71 percent completed. |

Today we have reached 36,409 years of total Phase 1 and Phase 2 FAAH processing. Phase 2 of FAAH started at 14,400 years so we have just passed 22,000 years of processing Phase 2. This puts us at about 75.89% completion of FAAH Phase 2.
----------------------------------------Also, if the number of work units processed method rather than years processed method is used, we are at about 71.36% completion of FAAH Phase 2. I have observed that the years processed method tends to overestimate the actual per centage completed while the work units completed tends to underestimate, but the average of the two seems to be fairly close. So at this time in FAAH Phase 2 we are about 73.62% completed. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 28, 2006 4:57:10 PM] |
