My new Laptop that is crunching now for a week does not show up. I dont gety any points and it does not show up in my history. I can see the valid work units only in "results" in my account and I can even see the device name there. How do I find my host ID? [Edit] I Think I have found it. The host ID is: 353533737 Can you please help me? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am having the same problem. I started using BOINC / WCG three days ago. Today I received an email from WCG that I haven't yet downloaded the software and done work. Since the past three days I have been running BOINC almost non stop and I have completed some works already. Since I'm quite new maybe I did not set up correctly, but everything seems to work fine. Could someone from WCG also please help me? Thanks in advance (= Hello, I would like to give a quick update to my situation I have 3 devices running BOINC/WCG, my phone and two laptops, one running Windows 11 Enterprise and the other running Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. Previously (by the time of my first post) none of my notebooks had been identified by WCG. Some days ago my Ubuntu laptop was added to my profile, but I still have no luck with the Windows one, which is the one I've been running for a month, from the time of my first post. This Windows laptop shows up on ScienceUnited but when I log in to WCG it is not listed. The great majority of projects I'm running on this machine through BOINC is from WCG. I would then like to know if there is any way I could provide information about my system so that it could be updated in WCG database, or if I could do it manually. I thank you for your attention again in dealing with this issue. Best regards |

Hi SciDuck,
I am glad to hear that your Ubuntu laptop has been added to your profile. Could you please post the host ID for your Windows laptop? I can then forward this to a member of the tech team who will ensure that the device is added. |

Hi TigerLily, thank you for your fast answer.
I assume the Host ID is the "host_cpid" found on "host_info" of the file "client_state.xml" on my BOINC folder? If so, it is the following: edefcec2f3f15134370710f88cd68a59 Another problem that may be related to this is that I got a notification from WCG informing that I received the "World Community Grid: 100 year badge - Smash Childhood Cancer" badge, but when I click "more" on the BOINC manager and I access my WCG profile there is no such badge - I assume it is because this is related to the computer that has not been added to my profile. Could someone from the tech team also take a look into this? Thank you again for your attention |

...and I have at least two devices which are not showing up in results even though they are happily sending them out. Also, when I looked at the client_state.xml I see that the host name is wrong.
----------------------------------------<host_cpid>80edb4376d731500bef770819a648056</host_cpid> Don't know where to find any other sort of ID. Can someone help straighten this out? I'm now running 7 systems 24X7 and eating a lot of power and would like to think that something is actually coming of it. [Edit 1 times, last edit by jmcgaw at Sep 3, 2023 11:07:42 PM] |

I always supplied the <hostid> from the C:\ProgramData\BOINC\client_state.xml file.
Perhaps they can backtrack it via the CPID... |

Things are worse than I thought so perhaps I should have been paying more attention all along. I have a new computer, an i9 named Miracle (because if I ever got it working it would be a miracle) and its name does not show in any results despite churning 24 threads of WCG and uploading them steadily. Not good but looking at my stats I see that a computer named Hactar (Douglas Adams fans will understand) is sending results despite having been retired and boxed up at least a year ago.. So Miracle is invisible and Hactar is a ghost. Additionally I have four other machines crunching in the back room and these are creatively named One, Two, Three and Four. Four has been crunching and uploading steadily also but its results are not shown in statistics.
----------------------------------------Is there some, preferably simple, way to correct these glitches? Finally found where that mysterious ID is hidden: <hostid>8721813</hostid> ADDED: <userid>315458</userid> if this means anything different. In any case things are still wonky and results from machine FOUR are not showing up even though it has been hard at it for about a year now. By some miracle Miracle's results are showing up but it looks like results from HACTAR are showing up too even though the machine was retired perhaps a year ago and has been in a cardboard box ever since. I'm SO confused... [Edit 2 times, last edit by jmcgaw at Sep 5, 2023 5:14:48 PM] |
